Alves confident of impact

New Middlesbrough signing Afonso Alves is confident of getting among the goals in the Premier League after being officially unveiled at the Riverside Stadium.
The Brazil international signed for the Teessiders on transfer deadline day for a reported £10million from Dutch side Herenveen.
The 27-year-old has a remarkable scoring record in teh Dutch Eredivisie and believes he will be able to reproduce the same form in England.
After being paraded in front of 2,000 fans at the Riverside Stadium on Thursday afternoon, he said: "Of course it will take some time to adapt to the speed of football over here but I think I will play my own game and I will settle in the end.
"There's already a very good team here. I saw the last game at the stadium and the team made a lot of chances to score. But I still think we can improve and I hope I can help.
"Of course only time will tell how well I will adapt but after this warm welcome I think I will give my answer with goals.
"The Premier League is a very exiting competition. I've always thought about playing here and I will do my very best to achieve everything I can."
