La Volpe slams strikers

Mexico coach Ricardo La Volpe was unhappy with his strikers after watching his side lose their final group D match 2-1 to Portugal.
Despite the defeat Mexico qualified for the last 16 after finishing as runners-up to the Portuguese but La Volpe thought his side should have the game if they had shown more composure in front of goal.
"I believe our main problem is scoring," he said. "We had a penalty and didn't get it in. We have the forwards we need, we get to the opposing goalkeeper but we must put away our chances.
"But we played well. I think we are playing the ball around better than our rivals.
"Today we didn't score enough. For the coach that is the most difficult thing to resolve."
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said: "It wasn't a game where everything was at its best but the way the team carried itself from beginning to end, I think it was good.
"It's not up to us to pick (who we'll play in the second round), it's they who will choose.
"When it's the World Cup, you cannot choose. It's best that we do our job from day to day and we try to get another win."
