Match Preview
Carlisle set for Minstermen bow York new boy Clarke Carlisle is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Oxford but fellow new signing Scott Dobie is some way off being ready. Dobie spent nearly a year without a club after his loan spell with Bradford ended and needs to train for two weeks before he will be considered for selection. The third of York's recent signings, on-loan Charlie Taylor, could feature in manager Gary Mills' squad. Chris Doig is an injury doubt for Saturday having picked up a knock at Barnet and could be replaced in the starting line-up by Carlisle. Defender David McGurk is still out injured but otherwise Mills has a full squad to choose from. Oxford will welcome back Tom Craddock, Deane Smalley, and Jake Forster-Caskey to their squad. The trio were all absent from the team that lost 3-0 to Leeds at Elland Road in the Capital One Cup after picking up knocks last weekend, but have now been declared fit to play. Lee Cox is still struggling with a groin injury, and remains unlikely to feature for the U's until their next home fixture against Exeter next week. Manager Chris Wilder's injury list is still a cause of concern with five other first-team players on the sidelines. Michael Duberry, Peter Leven, Andy Whing, Harry Worley, and Liam Davis are all unavailable, and remain some way off a return to match action. United have given youngsters Sam Long, David Lynn and Tyrone Marsh, who made his debut against Leeds, a chance to gain valuable experience on the bench in recent weeks and Wilder is expected to adopt a similar policy against the Minstermen.
