Match Report
Tranmere Rovers kept their League One play-off hopes alive, but only just against a determined Yeovil at Prenton Park.
The visitors often looked the more accomplished outfit and the thoroughly deserved point probably assured their survival in the division.
Yeovil made much of the early running. Jon Obika saw a first minute shot saved, Paul Warne volleyed wide and then a Nathan Smith free sailed straight into the arms of keeper Danny Coyne.
Tranmere came close to the lead on 17 minutes with Chris Weale saving with an outstretched leg from Ian Moore from a low cross by Ed Sonko.
But then it needed a fine diving save by Coyne to turn away an excellent strike by Andros Townshend four minutes later.
Warne was cautioned on 22 minutes for diving during the next Yeovil assault.
It was end to end entertainment. Ryan Shotton headed over for Rovers from an Andy Taylor free-kick on 34 minutes.
Approaching the break, Townshend was not far off target with an angled strike for Yeovil.
The visitors continued to cause Tranmere problems. Gavin Tomlin saw a shot turned away for a corner by Coyne.
Then just short of the hour, Danny Schofield rattled the bar with a fine 25-yard strike.
It was no surprise when Yeovil went ahead on 67 minutes as Obika found the net off a post from a difficult angle after a link up with Gavin Tomlin.
As Tranmere rallied, Antony Kay saw a free-kick saved and then Ben Chorley headed wide.
But the Merseysiders levelled out of the blue in the 78th minute with a great left-foot strike by Kay from a long throw in by Shotton.
