Yeovil are still looking for their first victory of 2008 after Huddersfield weathered an early storm to snatch all three points at Huish Park.

It was a great day for Andy Ritchie's Terriers who have now kept three successive clean sheets.

It was no coincidence that their defensive improvement has coincided with the arrival of Robert Page from Coventry. The experienced defender defended superbly throughout.

"We got bodies in dangerous situations when Yeovil were attacking early on. It was a great performance because not many teams come down here and win," said Ritchie.

Yeovil should have taken the lead on seven minutes when Lloyd Owusu raced clear. However, his shot lacked power and goalkeeper Matt Glennon palmed it away for a corner.

From the flag kick Lee Peltier, a deadline day signing from Liverpool, had an effort scrambled off the line.

Huddersfield had shown attacking ideas of their own and got a lucky break in the 23rd minute.

Yeovil skipper Terry Skiverton clearly handled in the penalty area but the home team claimed that referee Richard Beeby had not seen that Skiverton had been pushed towards the ball and was unable to prevent the contact. A penalty was awarded though and Luke Beckett knocked it in.

Beckett provided the second goal on 51 minutes for Michael Collins. He saw a gaping hole in the Town defence and his precision pass gave Collins an opportunity he could hardly miss.

Beckett and former Yeovil star Phil Jevons were denied by great saves from Steve Mildenhall as Huddersfield got on top and it was not until the arrival off the substitute bench of former Huddersfield favourite Marcus Stewart that the home side showed any real craft.

Stewart had been left out of the starting line-up because of injury but the warmth of the applause he received from the small band of travelling Terriers fans, shows they have still not forgotten his great contribution when he was in West Yorkshire.
