Match Report

Yeovil remain deep in relegation trouble despite an away draw at Stockport.

The hosts came closest to scoring in the second half, but this wasn't the best of games on a poor pitch.

There was a cagey start to the game and it took 11 minutes for either side to carve out an opening.

Stockport wideman Tommy Rowe twisted and turned neatly before seeing a goalbound shot blocked by Keiran Murtagh.

Yeovil then had a scare when Stockport teenager Jamie Vincent almost nipped in after Terrell Forbes' header only just reached keeper Chris Weale.

Weale was tested a minute later when Stockport striker Chris O'Grady fired in low from a tight angle.

On the half-hour mark, Stockport fluffed the best opportunity of the game so far.

Michael Rose whipped in a great low cross from the left and as Rowe raced in at the near post, he could only side-foot shot wide from close range.

The Glovers then missed a great chance of their own four minutes before the interval.

Murtagh played a measured throughball to Gavin Tomlin, but the diminutive striker blasted a shot high and wide from 15 yards out.

A minute before the break, Yeovil's loan striker Jonathan Obika turned well only for Josh Thompson to bravely block his shot.

The hosts began the second period purposefully. Barely three minutes in O'Grady saw a shot well saved by Weale and then the follow-up from the same player was blocked by Forbes.

Young Thompson came mighty close to a goal on his full league debut for County as his downward header from a Rowe corner bounced off the floor and up onto the crossbar before being cleared.

O'Grady then went close again as his powerful half-volley from an angle was well parried by Weale.

Minutes later Weale was in action again, this time acrobatically tipping a Greg Tansey drive over the crossbar.
