Furious Huddersfield Town fans staged a protest against the board after their side slumped to a fourth defeat of the season.

A small but loud group of supporters gathered outside the main entrance after former Huddersfield hero Marcus Stewart returned to the club to inspire a Yeovil victory.

Stewart, voted one of the greatest Huddersfield strikers in a fans' poll, left the club in a £2.5million move to Ipswich in 2000.

But he is regarded as one of the club's favourite sons and was given a warm welcome before kick-off.

While Stewart failed to add to his two goals since a deadline day loan move from Bristol City, he turned creator to set up goals for Lee Morris and Arron Davies.

Mark Hudson and Gary Taylor-Fletcher twice hauled the home side back into the game but Chris Cohen slammed home what proved to be the winner 13 minutes from time.

The Huddersfield defence looked suspect for much of the game and though Danny Schofield and Taylor-Fletcher hit the woodwork for the Terriers, it was a disjointed display lacking creativity.

At the final whistle a chorus of boos rang around the Galpharm Stadium and a group of supporters stayed behind to attack chairman Ken Davy and his directors for starving boss Peter Jackson of investment.

Jackson was only able to sign goalkeeper Matt Glennon and striker Luke Beckett in the summer and has been told there is no money available even for loan recruits.

Huddersfield are now on the slide on the back of six league matches without a win and this defeat increases the pressure on Jackson and Davy.

Morris, who had a brief loan spell at Huddersfield five years ago, opened the scoring when he was played in by Stewart and went through to shoot past Glennon.

Midfielder Hudson, who had missed a string of chances in the last two games, made amends when he produced a cracker from outside the box to level.

Davies' angled drive almost caught out Glennon who appeared to think the ball was going over the top but it dipped at the last second and hit the underside of the bar and bounced away.

The sides were level at 1-1 at the break but Stewart fired over just after the re-start and Davies then collected a pass from Stewart, forced Michael Collins into a mistake and ran clear to restore the lead in the 51st minute.

Schofield, a menace down the left, sent over a cross which was flicked on in the crowded box and Taylor-Fletcher was unmarked at the back post to head home.

Taylor-Fletcher then rattled the woodwork again before former West Ham midfielder Cohen sealed a first away win for Yeovil when he thumped a low drive into the bottom corner.

Huddersfield had no answer and the final word was left to the fans.
