Basey set for Chairboys bow Wycombe boss Gary Waddock could hand a debut to left-back Grant Basey against Walsall. The 22-year-old joined the club on a month`s loan from Peterborough on Thursday and may replace Andy Sandell, who will miss the game with a shoulder injury. However, Waddock may decide to stick with makeshift left-back Danny Foster, who deputised for Sandell during Tuesday's 3-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Cheltenham. Long-term absentee Dave Winfield is very close to a return following knee and groin problems. The 23-year-old defender is training with the first team and could feature but will not be risked unless he is 100% fit. Striker Matt McClure remains a long way from full fitness following his dislocated ankle. Walsall will assess striker Jon Macken ahead of the trip. However, he stands a chance of making his return at Adams Park and is set for a late fitness test. Otherwise, manager Dean Smith has a fully-fit squad to select from as he looks to end a seven-match winless run against a struggling Wycombe side, who themselves have lost six of their last seven in all competitions. Midfielder Claude Gnakpa made his return from a hamstring injury at Spotland on Tuesday night and will again look to start. The omens are good for the Saddlers heading into game having won five and drawn one of their last six meetings with Wycombe, losing just one of their previous nine encounters.
