High-flyers Wycombe kept up their unbeaten start to the season as Rotherham denied them the win.

It was a welcome point for the Yorkshire side after crashing to defeat in their last two home matches.

But Peter Taylor's table toppers came closest to breaking the deadlock after the break, but were denied by the woodwork and by home keeper Andy Warrington.

Wycombe came close to an early opener when a Craig Woodman corner was headed into the danger area by Mike Williamson and Chris Zebroski connected to flick his header goalwards, but the home side cleared.

Warrington held on to a testing shot from Wycombe striker Matt Harrold, before Rotherham debut frontman Omar Garcia snapped on to a Dale Tonge angled cross but hoisted his first-time effort over.

Another shot from distance from Zebroski was off target before Rotherham were hampered by the loss of leading scorer Reuben Reid.

The six-goal striker jumped to avoid being hit by a clearance, fell badly and was immediately stretchered off.

A corner swung in by Tonge gave Rotherham a brief spark of hope but Scott Shearer held on to Danny Harrison's header.

Five minutes after the restart Micky Cummins came close to scoring when a Pablo Mills cross was aimed across goal by Drewe Broughton, but Shearer produced an impressive save when Cummins headed goalwards

And after good work from Alex Rhodes, Broughton produced a shot on the turn but failed to trouble Shearer.

At the other end only a combination of Nick Fenton and keeper Warrington shut out Simon Church after a weaving run into the box and sub Matt Phillips hit the bar when he swung in a corner.

A super save from Shearer soon afterwards denied Andy Nicholas when he hit a goalbound shot for the home side.
