Match Report

Chris Zebroski provided the perfect response to his weekend red card against Darlington being rescinded with the equaliser at Underhill to maintain his side's unbeaten run at the top of League Two.

Zebroski, whose ban was overturned on Tuesday morning, finished at the far post on 68 minutes to keep the Chairboys' promotion push alive.

It was Barnet who started the game the brighter of the two sides, with French full-back Kenny Gillet providing a threat down the left.

But it was the visitors who created the first chance of the night as Gary Holt found space on the edge of the box on six minutes but fired just over.

Wycombe had a great chance to take the lead in the 22nd minute when Barnet's on-loan defender Michael Townsend missed his clearance, but Matt Harrold scooped his effort high and wide.

And the Bees took advantage as they went straight up the other to take the lead with a well-worked free kick on 24 minutes.

Neal Bishop took the Wycombe defence by surprise with a short pass to Nicky Deverdics and the summer signing from Gretna drove home left footed from 25 yards for his first Barnet goal.

The hosts took their lead into the break but Wycombe came flying out of the blocks after the break and should have equalised on 63 minutes.

Holt saw his long-range volley well saved by Bees keeper Lee Harrison and from the resulting corner, on-loan striker Simon Church headed over an open goal.

But five minutes later they found the equaliser as 17-year-old substitute Matty Phillips' deep cross from the left found Zebroski who slotted home.

Barnet nearly snatched the points late on as substitute John O'Flynn fired a 20-yard drive inches wide, but Wycombe held on to stay top of the table.
