It's 7:45pm on Tuesday, September 27th, the match has kicked off.
Wycombe made it three League wins in a row with a comfortable 4-1 victory over a weakened Wrexham side at the Causeway Stadium. The home side made a strong start against the Dragons and had the ball in the net twice inside the opening seven minutes, but both Tommy Mooney and Kevin Betsy were to see their efforts disallowed thanks to the lineman's flag. But Wanderers didn't have to wait too long to make the breakthrough that counted and they had much to thank Wrexham's rookie goalkeeper Michael Jones for, when it came. Sefan Oakes' speculative ball forward bounced embarrassingly over the head of the advancing keeper, allowing Nathan Tyson to cheekily tap the ball into an empty net with his head. Only six minutes later Wycombe doubled their advantage when Saturday's hat-trick hero Betsy pounced on a slip by David Bayliss and beat Jones with a cool finish. Matt Bloomfield and Mooney both went close before the break, but Wycombe were to regret not making more of their first half dominance when Mark Jones found enough space to turn and shoot past Frank Talia from 25 yards on 53 minutes. Wycombe began to look anxious but Mooney soon settled their nerves when he clinically finished after a superb run and pass from Tyson on 58 minutes. Tyson added his second with ten minutes to play when he smashed the ball home following a good run through the centre by Betsy, as Wycombe cruised home with all three points.
