Match Preview
Solbakken to recall key performers Stale Solbakken will revert to his strongest XI for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday. The Wolves boss made a total of 10 changes for Tuesday night's emphatic 6-0 League Cup defeat at Chelsea, with only midfielder Slawomir Peszko surviving from the side who won at Peterborough last Saturday. That means the likes of Carl Ikeme, Christophe Berra, Roger Johnson, Tongo Doumbia, Karl Henry, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Kevin Doyle are all set to return to face the Owls. Solbakken is not expected to have any new injuries for the encounter, with long-term absentees Wayne Hennessey (knee), Jamie O'Hara (hernia) and Steven Mouyokolo still missing. Despite their cup battering at Stamford Bridge, Wanderers are on a three-match winning streak in the Championship. Sheffield Wednesday will be boosted by the return of Ross Barkley and Martin Taylor, while Reda Johnson may also be back in contention. Midfielder Barkley and central defender Taylor both missed the midweek Capital One Cup defeat at Southampton as they were cup-tied, but manager Dave Jones is expected to recall them to his starting line-up. Either Miguel Llera or Mark Beevers could make way for Taylor, with Barkley expected to replace Paul Corry, who made his debut against Southampton. Johnson missed last weekend's defeat to Bolton and the cup defeat at St Mary's due to a foot injury. The Owls will be without midfielder Rhys McCabe and defender Lewis Buxton due to thigh and hamstring injuries respectively. Midfielder Chris Lines is making steady progress after being ruled out so far this season with a groin problem, but is not ready for first-team action. Wednesday are looking to halt a run of five straight defeats, four of them in the npower Championship.
