Rosler to utilise squad
Wigan manager Uwe Rosler has plenty of scope to shuffle his pack once again for Blackpool at the DW Stadium.
The German, who is often found utilising squad rotation, made four changes for the Easter Monday loss to high-flying Burnley and the manner of Latics' first-half performance suggests some of those left out of the XI will be recalled.
Wingers Shaun Maloney and Callum McManman are likely to be top of that list, as is striker Martyn Waghorn while on-loan forward Nick Powell has not started any of the previous four fixtures. Midfield duo Ben Watson (broken leg) and Chris McCann (knee) are out while defender Ivan Ramis (hamstring) has not played since the FA Cup semi-final on April 12.
Latics need just three points from their remaining three fixtures - against the Seasiders, Birmingham and Blackburn - to seal a Sky Bet Championship play-off berth.
Ricardo Fuller could be an option for Blackpool caretaker player-manager Barry Ferguson, although the Scot himself is almost certainly out.
The Seasiders have not won a game without top scorer Fuller since he signed in August but he has done some light training following a knee injury and Ferguson will see how he fares prior to the trip to the DW Stadium.
However, Ferguson, who had strictly remained on the sidelines up until this month after assuming managerial responsibilities in January, is struggling with an ankle problem. He missed the draw with Brighton on Monday and is still hampered by the injury, which he hopes will be remedied by an operation on May 6.
The struggling Tangerines have plenty of problems elsewhere and Ferguson expects to have a similar squad so the likes of Gary MacKenzie, Jack Robinson, Angel Martinez, Steve Davies and Robert Earnshaw will all remain out.
