Taundry in fitness race Walsall right-back Richard Taundry faces a race against time to be fit for the visit of Stevenage. Taundry has missed the last three games having been forced off with a hamstring injury in the 3-2 home triumph over Sheffield United. But he has trained this week and will be assessed ahead of the encounter as the Saddlers, fresh from Tuesday's draw at Sheffield Wednesday, aim to climb back out of the relegation places. Midfielder Adam Chambers continues to miss out with his heel infection but manager Dean Smith has no new injury or suspension problems to contend with. Walsall are yet to play host to Stevenage in their history, with November's goalless draw at Broadhall Way the first-ever meeting between the two sides. Stevenage will be without Jordan Slew after he was sent off for violent conduct moments before half-time as Boro drew 0-0 at home to Colchester on Tuesday night and the on-loan Blackburn striker will begin a three-match suspension. Boss Gary Smith will choose two from Patrick Agyemang, Craig Reid and Chris Beardsley to spearhead his attack at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday. Reid and Beardsley were on the bench in midweek. Playmaker Luke Freeman and midfielder Robin Shroot will also be hoping for recalls. Midfielder Jennison Myrie-Williams and on-loan defender Jamaal Lascelles are also options for Smith should he feel the need to make any further changes. Boro go into the game in seventh place in the table, one point adrift of a play-off spot.
