No Jennings for Rovers Tranmere boss Les Parry is set to be without youngster Dale Jennings again for the home clash with Sheffield Wednesday. The highly-rated striker is still troubled by a groin injury and is unlikely to play any part against Gary Megson`s men. Ash Taylor and Ian Goodison are set to be passed fit despite picking up minor knocks in Saturday`s 3-1 win at Plymouth. Taylor sustained a slight jaw injury and Goodison picked up a hamstring strain but the complaints are not serious and will not prevent them facing the Owls. However, midfielder Ryan Fraughan has damaged medial ligaments in his knee and will be out for around six weeks. Saturday`s victory at Home Park lifted Rovers three points clear of the relegation zone. Sheffield Wednesday defender Lewis Buxton has been ruled out of the game due to a hamstring strain. Buxton has been struggling with the problem in recent weeks and aggravated it during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Rochdale, so Richard Hinds, Reda Johnson and Tommy Spurr are all hoping to be in contention for a return to the side. Another defender, Jon Otsemobor, remains sidelined with a calf injury. Midfielder Isaiah Osbourne, on loan from Aston Villa, is pushing for his first start after stepping off the substitutes' bench on Saturday, as is striker Gary Madine, who scored his third goal in four appearances for the Owls in the closing stages. Manager Gary Megson is chasing his first win in charge, while the Owls are bidding for their first win in nine league matches.

Rovers rumble 10-man Wednesday Sheffield Wednesday's winless run stretched to nine games as Tranmere continued their climb up the table with a convincing 3-0 win. Wednesday looked the sharper side for an hour, but it all went wrong for new manager Gary Megson in his second game in charge of the Owls in a disastrous five-minute spell when they conceded goals from Lateef Elford-Alliyu and Ian Goodison and had Giles Coke dismissed. Coke was shown a straight red card for his crude challenge on John Welsh in the 64th minute, while Enoch Showunmi fired home a third goal for Tranmere in the 81st minute. It was fast and furious from the outset but neither goalkeeper was really tested in the opening forty five minutes as defences held firm. Tommy Spurr and Gary Teale were in the thick of the action for the Owls and Aaron Cresswell and Elford-Alliyu were prominent for Rovers. Wednesday started the second period brightly, but Gary Madine fired over from the edge of the box and another effort was comfortably held by Tranmere goalkeeper Tony Warner. Then the busy striker skimmed the outside of a post with a header from Coke's corner. Tranmere went ahead against the run of play on the hour with Elford-Alliyu heading in at the far post from Welsh's right-wing cross. It got worse for Megson's side four minutes later with Coke harshly shown a straight red card. Tranmere doubled their lead from the subsequent free-kick with Goodison heading in from Cresswell's centre in the 65th minute. The Merseysiders stretched further clear with nine minutes to go with an excellent left-footed finish by Showunmi after being set up by Joss Labadie.
