Match Preview

Redknapp preparing for Stoke Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has stressed anyone "not in the right frame of mind to play" following Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane on Saturday will be allowed to sit out Wednesday's Barclays Premier League clash against Stoke. Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is again a doubt (hamstring) and defender Ledley King (knee) will be assessed. Winger Aaron Lennon remains sidelined with a hamstring problem while William Gallas is fit again following a calf injury. Defender Michael Dawson (ankle), goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes (knee), and midfielder Tom Huddlestone (ankle) are out. Chelsea are also within striking distance of Spurs, who at one time looked set to challenge Manchester City and Manchester United for the title. Redknapp, though, remains confident his squad can soon get back on track. He said: "We have had a run of not good results, but they have not been bad performances. "We are not playing badly, but we need it a result and want to be in form. "If we don't win, then things are really getting a bit tight. It has closed up and you have to make sure we try to pick up three points." Spurs are likely to face former striker Peter Crouch. The England international joined the Potters in a #10million deal at the end of August. Redknapp also had Crouch with him at Southampton and Portsmouth. "Crouchy has made an impact wherever he has been," he said. "He did a great job for us here, and also for me when we were at Portsmouth. "I was sorry to lose him and it was not a case of wanting to get rid of Peter. We were taking Emmanuel Adebayor and I could not keep everybody. "Peter moved on, but you would have him any day, he is a top player and a great lad as well." Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is set to return to the Stoke team. Begovic has regained his spot as first-choice shot-stopper for League fixtures and should come back in to replace Thomas Sorensen, who played in the 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Liverpool on Sunday. Striker Ricardo Fuller misses out again through suspension following his sending off against Chelsea. Tony Pulis has called on Stoke fans to help the team "finish the job off" over the next few weeks as the Potters' long and demanding season nears its end. The Staffordshire outfit played their 46th game of a gruelling campaign on Sunday when they were defeated 2-1 at Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter finals. "We've had a fantastic season, especially when you look at what we've achieved in the cup competitions, but now we just need to get over the line," Pulis told www.stokecityfc.com. "We still need a few points in the Premier League and we want to finish as high in the table as possible, so at the end of a long season in which we have played 46 games now, we need one final effort to get us to where we want to be. "The supporters were fantastic once again (at Sunday's match), but we'll need them over the remaining matches to help push us over that line. "I've said before that the togetherness throughout this club has been key to our success and we need to stick together now. "The players have worked so hard over the past eight months; their effort and commitment has been excellent, but we now have to finish the job off."
