Match Report

Chelsea have the opportunity to exact revenge on Tottenham Hotspur for last month's Carling Cup Final defeat when they visit White Hart Lane on Wednesday evening.

The Blues lost a nip-and-tuck Wembley showpiece 2-1 in extra-time to their London rivals, prompting talk of a crisis at Stamford Bridge.

However, since then Chelsea have kept their Premier League title challenge on track with three successive victories and also reached the last eight of the Champions League.

Spurs, on the other hand, have lost three of their five games in all competitions and been dumped out of the UEFA Cup on penalties by PSV Eindhoven.

The north London club's recent troubles were highlighted by Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Manchester City when they took a first-half lead through Robbie Keane before conceding twice after the break.

Keane's furious reaction to his substitution could also land the stand-in skipper in hot water with hard-line coach Juande Ramos, and the Republic of Ireland striker is not guaranteed to be involved against Chelsea.

Elsewhere, captain Ledley King could return after missing the weekend encounter as he continues to be used sparingly by Ramos, while Tom Huddlestone and Jamie O'Hara could step up off the substitute's bench.

Chelsea coach Avram Grant has plenty of selection dilemmas on his hands as he looks to move his side level on points with second-placed Arsenal.

The Blues have gone about their business in recent weeks with quiet efficiency and Saturday's 1-0 victory at Sunderland when John Terry scored his first goal of the season extended their unbeaten run in the league to 13 games.

However, with virtually a fully-fit squad to select from, Grant has his work cut out attempting to keep every member of his squad happy.

Nicolas Anelka was omitted from the weekend squad completely, while the likes of Michael Essien, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ricardo Carvalho were all named on the substitute's bench.

Injured goalkeeper Petr Cech (ankle) is the only absentee so Carlo Cudicini will again continue between the sticks.

Chelsea were 2-0 winners when the sides locked horns at Stamford Bridge in January with Juliano Belletti and Wright-Phillips on the scoresheet.
