Gulls sweating on Howe fitness Torquay manager Martin Ling may be without the services of striker Rene Howe as he aims to relieve the pressure building on his side against AFC Wimbledon. The former Peterborough frontman suffered a serious concussion late on in the 4-1 defeat at Southend and is a doubt, while Irish midfielder Ian Morris remains a long-term absentee with a knee problem. The Gulls have now lost three in as many games and are winless in eight, but Ling has vowed his charges will keep fighting. "We`ve got to keep ourselves positive and we`ve got to keep plugging away," he told BBC Devon. "We will keep fighting to find the right answers and keep doing things right on the training pitch and taking it into games." Luke Moore returns to the AFC Wimbledon squad. The winger was missing from Saturday's 5-2 defeat by Crawley through suspension after collecting five bookings this season. Midfielder Rashid Yussuff also sat out at the weekend with a slight knock and he will be checked over before a decision is made. Former Crystal Palace winger Kieran Djilali is now fit after a hamstring injury and pushing for a place in the squad. Defender Gareth Gwillim is expected to miss out again with a knee injury so Chris Bush, who scored an own-goal on Saturday, is in line to deputise at left-back once more. Gulls soar once more Rene Howe, making a miraculous recovery after being knocked out at Southend last Saturday, scored twice as Torquay ended an eight-match winless run with a 4-0 victory against AFC Wimbledon. Howe was only cleared to play on the morning of the game, but he joined in a devastating display of finishing by Martin Ling's Gulls. Wimbledon, who have now conceded 12 goals in three games, dominated possession and territory for long periods of the first half. But once Danny Stevens had broken the deadlock, cutting inside for a deflected 22-yard shot in the 32nd minute, it was a non-contest. Torquay hit Terry Brown's Dons with two goals in two minutes just before the break. The impressive Eunan O'Kane robbed Callum McNaughton before coolly scoring the second in the 43rd minute and Howe finished a slick move with a first-time volley on the stroke of half time. Howe blasted a 25-yard drive past Seb Brown for his sixth goal of the season in the 56th minute, and a faultless display of handling by Bobby Olejnik in goal ensured a clean-sheet for Torquay.
