Match Preview

Bodin set for Robins bow Caretaker manager Paul Bodin takes charge of already-relegated Swindon for the first time as they host Oldham in what is the club`s final home match of the season. Bodin, who enjoyed two playing spells with the Robins between 1988-91 and 1992-96, was on Friday promoted from Under-18s manager to take the reins for the final two matches in the wake of Paul Hart`s departure as interim boss. Centre-back Andy Frampton is set to miss out against the Latics having been forced off after 37 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday on Monday with an ankle injury. Goalkeeper David Lucas (back) and defender Milan Misun (knee) continue to miss out, and have been joined in the treatment room by youngsters Will Evans and Nathan Thompson (both ankle), the latter of whom has a chance of recovering in time for this weekend. Bodin`s son, Billy, has forced his way into contention of late and played the final 20 minutes at Hillsborough. The forward, 19, could be in line for further involvement this weekend and possibly his first start for the club. Oldham boss Paul Dickov is facing a major injury crisis. Left-back Cedric Evina hobbled off with an ankle injury after just 23 minutes of the 1-1 draw at home to Walsall on Easter Monday. He could now miss out and with fellow left-back Paul Black (abdomen) unlikely to feature again this season following recent minor surgery, Dickov is desperately short of defensive options. Kieran Lee (hamstring), Reuben Hazell (knee), Ryan Brooke (ankle) and Oumare Tounkara (ankle) are all carrying injuries and their fitness will be assessed. Winger Filipe Morais, who is out of contract in the summer, misses the final two matches of the season after being sent off against Walsall, while fellow wideman Kirk Millar is also banned.

Match Report

Bodin unable to find magic touch Swindon caretaker manager Paul Bodin was unable to reverse already-relegated Swindon`s fortunes as Oldham piled on the misery at the County Ground with a 2-0 victory. The former Robins defender was on Thursday promoted from Under-18s manager in the wake of Paul Hart`s departure as interim boss. But he could do little to prevent Town from extending their sorry run to one win in 23 while Oldham registered only their second victory in 18 attempts. Bodin included his son Billy in his starting XI for what was the 19-year-old forward`s first league start. But one moment of quality gave Oldham a half-time lead in what was a drab end of season encounter. Chris Taylor picked up the ball just inside the Swindon half in the 17th minute, cut in from the left and fired into the top corner from 25 yards. Taylor, with his second of the game, then made it 2-0 in the 65th minute when Swindon failed to clear and he smashed in a low 20-yard drive to beat Phil Smith. Swindon rang the changes in search of a reply but the only effort that caused the visitors any problem was a Matt Ritchie header well saved by Dean Brill in the visitors' goal. Oldham will be content to be playing in League One next season but for Swindon, who will contest life in League Two, there does seem to be a great deal of rebuilding to do.
