Match Preview

Smith missing for Swindon Swindon will be without goalkeeper Phil Smith for the clash with Hereford. The former Crawley stopper picked up a groin strain during the 2-0 defeat at Macclesfield last Friday and has been ruled out for up to three weeks. Mattia Lanzano will deputise in between the sticks once again for the Robins, but manager Paolo Di Canio has already stressed he wants to bring in another keeper on loan as cover. Midfielder Oliver Risser returned to the first team as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 win at Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek, and the Namibian may well be included in the squad to face the Bulls. After scoring twice on his full debut in the same game, on-loan striker Jake Jervis will keep his place up front, with either Mehdi Kerrouche or Alan Connell partnering him. Midfielder Abdul Said is a long-term casualty for Swindon with a leg injury. Hereford will be without David Cornell and Delroy Facey for the trip but Steve Leslie is in line to make his second debut for the club. On-loan Swansea goalkeeper Cornell and striker Facey are away on international duty with Wales` Under-21s and Grenada respectively and miss out at the County Ground. Cornell`s absence provides a problem with Adam Bartlett still sidelined with his thigh injury, meaning assistant manager Russell Hoult, who made his name with Derby and West Brom, is set to step in between the sticks. On-loan striker Nathan Elder will compete with Yoann Arquin to replace Facey in attack having made his Bulls bow as a half-time substitute in last weekend`s 1-0 home defeat to Oxford. Winger Leslie returned to Edgar Street on a month`s loan from Shrewsbury this week having spent the final two months of last season with the club. He comes into contention along with fellow on-loan midfielder Simon Clist, who was ineligible to face parent club Oxford under the terms of his deal.

Match Report

Pell the hero for Hereford Harry Pell was the substitute hero for Hereford as his side completed an unlikely second-half comeback to draw 3-3 against Swindon at the County Ground. Jamie Pitman's men had trailed 2-0 at half time, and then 3-2, before midfielder Pell nodded home in the 90th minute to rescue an undeserved point for the visitors. Swindon looked comfortable at half time thanks to goals from Raffaele De Vita and Algerian Mehdi Kerrouche. Having scored just four goals all season, few had given Hereford a prayer of salvaging anything from the game but they were given hope in the 67th minute when on-loan winger Tom Barkhuizen smashed the ball home from the right edge of the box. Nine minutes later the visitors were level as substitute Yoann Arquin headed home unmarked from six yards. Swindon were immediately back on the offensive and in the 79th minute retook the lead as midfielder Simon Ferry finished off a neat move. However, Hereford weren't to be denied as Pell ended an absorbing game of football with a late equaliser for the visitors
