Match Preview

Andrew set for Robins debut Calvin Andrew is likely to make his debut for Swindon in what is really a must-win game at home to fellow strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge. The striker arrived on a one-month loan deal from Crystal Palace on Thursday and goes straight into the squad. Forwards Elliot Benyon (hamstring and illness) and Thomas Dossevi (side) returned from injury with substitute appearances in Tuesday`s 1-0 defeat at Plymouth and having got more training under their belts this week, both could well play a bigger part against the Daggers. But Town are again set to be without David Lucas after the goalkeeper missed the Home Park reverse - a result which dropped Town to the bottom of the table - due to an arm infection, so Phil Smith is likely to start once again Striker Vincent Pericard (knee) and defenders Lescinel Jean-Francois (leg) and Milan Misun (knee) also remain sidelined. Dagenham are set to be unchanged for the relegation six-pointer. John Still saw his side pick up a second straight win at home to Colchester in midweek, leaving them two points adrift of safety with two games in hand. Swindon are bottom of the league - three points behind the Daggers having played three games more. Left-back Damien McCrory twisted his ankle during the win at Bristol Rovers last Saturday and will be out for around a fortnight so Oluwafemi Ilesanmi is in line to start again. Defender Will Antwi is back in full training after a groin problem but will not dislodge Scott Doe and Mark Arber in the centre of defence. Right-back Abu Ogogo has recovered from an ankle injury as the Daggers look to make it nine points from nine.

Match Report

Nurse nicks point for Daggers A fortunate goal from Jon Nurse rescued a point for Dagenham as Swindon stretched their winless run to 14 games with a 1-1 draw. On-loan Leeds striker Mike Grella gave Swindon a first-half lead, only for Nurse to equalise with eight minutes to go to salvage John Still's side a point. The breakthrough came on the stroke of half-time when a long ball from Phil Smith, which was aimed at Calvin Andrew, was inadvertently headed back towards his own goal by Daggers centre-back Scott Doe. Grella battled with Abu Ogogo on the edge of the box and the striker managed to get the better of him and place a fine lob over Tony Roberts for his first goal in a Swindon shirt. It was also the first time the Robins had taken the lead in a match for over three months. Dagenham were more threatening in the second half with Danny Green causing problems on the right wing. And with eight minutes left on the clock, the ball dropped to Peter Gain on the edge of the area and his fierce shot hit Nurse and looped into the right-hand corner for his sixth goal of the season. Swindon were denied a penalty deep into injury-time when Paul Caddis was body-checked by two Dagenham defenders but the referee waved the protests away.
