Match Report
Swansea City were denied a win by a late goal from super-sub Alan Gow against the Seasiders.
The visitors made their presence felt throughout and dominated possession for much of the game.
Simon Grayson's men struggled to create anything through their five-man midfield and, as a result, had very few chances on goal for much of the first period.
Swansea came close to breaking the deadlock on 22 minutes when midfielder Thomas Butler forced his way through a crowded box and goalkeeper Paul Rachubka did well to hold on in slippery conditions.
Just five minutes later Liam Dickinson squandered a golden opportunity when he headed wide from a Kyel Reid corner.
That was as close as either side came in the first period with the resilient visitors proving difficult to break down throughout.
After the break Pool continued to push Swansea and Roberto Martinez's side came under pressure from the off. The Welsh outfit weathered the storm and, on 65 minutes, burst forward when Jordi Gomez was given the space.
Just two minutes later Pool again gave the visitors space down the right and this time Jason Scotland was the man on the ball. He made room on the edge of the box before crashing a low drive past the helpless keeper.
Pool looked to hit back immediately and substitute Gow set about the cause with relish. His movement in the box troubled the visitors and an acute strike slipped narrowly wide.
It took the loan-ranger just seven minutes to restore a balance. He burst through a packed Swansea defence before coolly firing home.
Swansea continued to create chances on goal with substitute Gorka Pintado finding himself one on one with the keeper and, with just two minutes to go, Scotland saw a great chance go begging.
Alex John- Baptiste somehow cleared his effort off the line to save a point for the home side.
