FULL-TIME: SPURS 1-2 SUNDERLAND
90mins
Into injury time now and the home fans are beginning to exit the stadium as it appears their side are going to lose their second game of the campaign.
88mins
Heroic defending from Phil Bardsley who comes from nowhere to deny Darren Bent a header on goal - but he has picked up a heavy knock to his left knee as a result and has stayed down for now.
86mins
Andy Reid is now removed from the action after a sterling display and former Celtic and Man Utd player Liam Miller comes on to try and sure up the midfield.
85mins
Do Spurs have the heart now to come back for a second time? They have been all over the Black Cats but once again they have been punished on the break and this time it could cost them dear.
83mins
What a way to introduce yourself! Completely against the run of play Darryl Murphy is released down the left and he crosses for Djibril Cisse who is unmarked to head past Gomes and Sunderland lead 2-1.
80mins
Into the final ten minutes and after a highly lacklustre first period from both sides the second half has really come alive and surely there is a goal here for someone.
77mins
Sadly for the travelling Sunderland fans it is all Spurs for the moment and as it stands they look the most likely to steal the three points late.
75mins
The crowd are really up for this now and so are all 22 players on the pitch and it has the feeling that the last quarter of an hour could be something special here.
73mins
There is the equaliser and it is the least Spurs deserve for their work since going behind. Luka Modric evades three challenges but Gordon twice denies the Croatian, however Jermaine Jenas arrives to slide it into the empty net. 1-1 at the Lane.
70mins
David Bentley is the latest to test Gordon as Spurs begin to try and batter down the door of the Sunderland defence but Gordon is agile enough to tip his looping effort over the bar.
69mins
Jermaine Jenas has suddenly come alive in a more attacking role and he bursts in behind to latch onto a bouncing ball and beats Gordon to the header, however his luck is out as it scrapes the wrong side of the post.
69mins
Tom Huddlestone is absolutely huge - in the muscular sense of the word - and looks a towering, powerful presence in the midfield for Spurs and is rather unfortunate to give away a free-kick as Malbranque bumps into him.
67mins
Spurs are applying real pressure now and this is what they should have been doing from the first whistle but Giovani now curls a fraction wide and Jenas warms the hands of Gordon too.
65mins
Sunderland's goalscorer Richardson is now replaced by new signing Djibril Cisse who receives a rousing welcome from the travelling fans.
63mins
That is the old Darren Bent! He uses his pace and power to get beyond Nosworthy and company and although he only finds the side netting it is encouraging from the former Charlton man.
60mins
Sunderland are likely to sit back a little more now, however Spurs have a free-kick - Bentley goes for goal but is denied by a great save from Gordon, but Woodgate and Jenas are there to surely score. Somehow they can only guide it wide.
58mins
Two yellow cards for the visitors as Malbranque brings down Bentley and Richardson is not happy with the decision and both are booked.
58mins
Tottenham have had a slight re-shuffle now as Bale is back at left back with Bentley moving to the right hand side and Giovani is in the left wing role.
57mins
Spurs almost find an immediate riposte as Darren Bent wriggles free of Nosworthy to hit a shot on the turn that Gordon has to beat away.
56mins
A double change - that was already on the way - for Juande Ramos as Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Aaron Lennon are replaced by Tom Huddlestone and Giovani.
56mins
Fair to say they are not so excited now as Kieran Richardson robs Jenas on the edge of the box and then rifles the ball into the far corner of the net to give Sunderland a 1-0 lead in spectacular fashion.
55mins
The Spurs fans are starting to get excited as they see former Barcelona youngster Giovani Dos Santos being readied for action.
53mins
If this is a sign of things to come then the second half could well be a far more entertaining affair than the opening 45 minutes - something the fans would certainly welcome.
51mins
Diouf is yet again unpopular as he throws himself to the floor to win a free-kick - nevertheless Reid curls it in and Collins loops his header just a fraction wide, he too should have scored.
48mins
However, Gareth Bale should have made that point null and void as he has a free header on the six-yard box but he gets underneath it and has his head in his hands as it flies over.
48mins
Juande Ramos' options are limited if things do not change too quickly as there are no real front men on his bench with only really Giovani an attacking option.
46mins
The second period is underway and it will be interesting to see how the respective managers use their benches, particularly Roy Keane who has no less than four strikers on his.
45mins
It is goalless at the break as both sides fail to trouble the opposition goalkeeper too regularly. Former Spurs man Steed Marlbranque hit a post but that was the closest anyone came to breaking the deadlock at we go in 0-0 at the interval.
45mins
Darren Bent has been quiet, not that he hasn't been trying but the service has just not been good enough, but he does almost get on the end of a lost cause now but Gordon is out smartly to deny him.
43mins
Diouf is making himself unpopular with the away fans - no change there then - as he writhes in pain on the floor after a challenge from Jenas, but he is up again and fine - no change there yet again then.
40mins
What a chance for Sunderland and Steed Malbranque! The Frenchman is given too much space and strikes it against the bottom of the post from outside the box and King just about scrambles away the rebound with Diouf and Richardson ready to pounce.
38mins
Kieran Richardson - once linked with a move to White Hart Lane during his time at Man Utd - is giving Didier Zokora a few problems on the left flank for Sunderland and Diouf and Murphy will be looking for him to create something for them.
35mins
Did I say something about Modric looking the 'real deal'? Well I take it back because he has hardly touched the ball in the last 20 minutes here and Spurs need his creativity to unlock a well organised Black Cats defence.
32mins
Aaron Lennon does his best impression of Usain Bolt now as he takes the ball the length of the field in a flash before feeding Bentley who takes too long and is robbed by a recovering Nosworthy.
31mins
Diouf looks really up for this game today, everytime he gets the ball he causes problems and he takes on two here before laying it off for Malbranque who is chopped down on the edge of the box - but Reid wastes the free-kick.
30mins
It has been an entertaining half hour here despite a lack of goals but the hosts - for all their possession - have yet to give Craig Gordon a proper test.
26mins
Bale is away down the wing but Collins comes across and Bale goes down after Collins had long pulled out of the tackle - needless from Bale and referee Dean books him.
25mins
From pretty much nowhere El-Hadji Diouf finds himself in space but Woodgate flicks the ball away from the Senegalese's head.
23mins
Sunderland have superb quality on the ball at times and in Andy Reid - another former Spurs player - they have a player with an eye for a pass and he sees Malbranque in space at the back post but Assou-Ekotto arrives in the nick of time.
21mins
What is it they say about a commentator's curse? Aaron Lennon leaves Danny Collins on his backside and only a superb diving header from Nosworthy stops Bent making it 1-0.
20mins
Roy Keane would no doubt have told his players to see out the opening twenty minutes without conceding and they have made it quite comfortably as a group of ever-improving defenders look solid.
17mins
David Bentley has become rather famed for his prodigious delivery from dead balls and he shows why as he whips a dangerous corner into the near post but Woodgate fails to make contact.
15mins
Spurs have a strange balance to their side again today and it does not seem to be working for them too well at either end. The midfielders don't know what to do as Bent looks isolated but the defenders are left vulnerable at the same time.
13mins
Still goalless at the Lane with Spurs the more dominant side but Sunderland, much like their North East rivals Boro' last week, look ever dangerous on the break.
10mins
Eccentric Brazilian goakeeper Huerelho Gomes has had a rather simple opening ten minutes - always nice on your home debut - but he does start a counter attack now and Bentley drives from range but its always drifitng wide.
7mins
El-Hadji Diouf looks like an interesting signing from Roy Keane but he shows why the boss brought him on board as he sprints into the box away from three defenders before eventually being denied by Assou-Ekotto.
4mins
Ramos' men have made a bright start and Luka Modric looks like the real deal now as he cleverly feeds Bent who fires just over with the outside of his boot.
1mins
Spurs very quickly out of the blocks and Modric wins a corner that will allow the hosts to apply some pressure, but Bentley wastes it and Lennon is forced to track back to prevent a counter attack.
0mins
Mike Dean is today's match official and he gets things underway in front of a slightly nervous home crowd who are expecting a lot from Juande Ramos' side.
0mins

Tottenham: Gomes, Zokora, King, Woodgate, Assou-Ekotto, Modric, Lennon, Jenas, Bentley, Bale, Bent

Roy Keane raided the Spurs reserves in the summer for no less than three players but only Steed Marlbranque starts on his old stomping ground.
0mins
Spurs looked lacklustre against Middlesbrough last week as they slumped to a rather comfortable 2-1 defeat and want-away striker Dimitar Berbatov is not even included in the squad - is there a story there?
0mins
Welcome to White Hart Lane as Tottenham Hotspur entertain Roy Keane's Sunderland side in a game that both would like to take something from after opening day defeats.
Match Preview
Tottenham must recover from the disappointment of an opening-day defeat at Middlesbrough when they host tricky Sunderland on Saturday.
Liverpool can testify as to the strength and resilience of the current Sunderland side as they were held by the Black Cats until a late Fernando Torres strike broke the deadlock in their opening game of the season.
Little over two hours earlier, Spurs had found themselves 2-0 down at the Riverside Stadium and, although a Robert Huth own goal made the score 2-1, they were bitterly disappointed with their showing.
"We did not defend well from set-pieces and that cost us the game," said assistant manager Gus Poyet.
"We have signed some new players and they are clever players and they now know what to expect and they have to believe in their abilities."
Their grip on star striker Dimitar Berbatov, who began that game on the bench, has since loosened with a move to Manchester United moving closer.
"I'm now in Tottenham but no-one can disagree with me wanting to follow my dream," the Bulgarian was quoted as saying this week.
Whatever happens, Spurs are likely to start with Darren Bent in attack, supported by summer signings Luka Modric and Giovanni Dos Santos, for the visit of Sunderland.
A partner for Bent remains a priority and Spurs would be likely to use the money from any sale of Berbatov to purchase a forward, although this week Diego Forlan, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Andrei Arshavin have all distanced themselves.
Sunderland have also been in transfer negotiations this week, with midfielder Dickson Etuhu attracting interest from Fulham and Anton Ferdinand, David Healy and Djibril Cisse linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.
France striker Cisse and Northern Ireland's Healy could both be signed in time to feature for their new club at White Hart Lane.
Either one of the attacking pair could fill a hole up front while Kenwyne Jones recovers from a serious knee injury that is likely to sideline him until October.

Match Report
Djibril Cisse made a dream start to his Sunderland career after he came off the bench to net the winner and inflict more misery on a Tottenham side who axed Dimitar Berbatov from their squad.
Cisse only arrived on Thursday on a season-long loan from Marseille, but he wasted no time winning over the Sunderland fans as his late header secured the club's first victory of the season at White Hart Lane.
The France international is determined to be a major success in the Premier League following his frustrating three-year spell at Liverpool.
Tottenham fans must be fearing the worst already, following their second consecutive defeat and the impending departure of star forward Berbatov.
Berbatov was not even among the substitutes as Ramos revealed he was not in the right frame of mind and would have been a disruption in the dressing room.
The Bulgarian striker seems certain to leave the club in the next few days and Tottenham fans will be praying the club can bring in a couple of big name forwards to kick-start their season.
Tottenham started brightly and could have broken the deadlock after just ten minutes when summer signing David Bentley fired a 25-yard drive wide of the post.
Gareth Bale received a yellow card on 25 minutes after attempting to win a penalty for the home side following a challenge by Danny Collins. Referee Mike Dean adjudged the player to be diving inside the box.
Steed Malbranque had a major point to prove to Juande Ramos on his return to White Hart Lane and came the closest to breaking the deadlock for Sunderland on 38 minutes.
The French midfielder broke clear just outside the box and saw his 30-yard shot came back off the post. The rebound fell to El-Hadji Diouf who fired the ball over the bar.
Bale had a golden chance to put Tottenham into the lead on 48 minutes. Bentley's corner picked out the Welsh defender who had a free header inside the box, but he directed his close-range effort inches over the bar.
Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes was called into action for the first time on 53 minutes when Diouf's cross picked out Daryl Murphy, whose shot produced a fine save from the Brazlian keeper diving low to his left.
But Sunderland got their just rewards when they finally opened the scoring on 55 minutes.
Ledley King, back in the side after injury, failed to clear the danger. Richardson beat Jermaine Jenas to the ball before firing an unstoppable shot past Gomes into the corner of the net.
The home side should have drawn level on the hour mark. Craig Gordon failed to deal with an inswinging free-kick from Bentley. The rebound fell to Jonathan Woodgate who had an open goal, but he somehow fired the ball wide.
Bentley's shot on 70 minutes produced the save of the game from Gordon who superbly tipped the ball over the bar.
Tottenham fans finally had something to shout about when Jenas grabbed an equaliser on 72 minutes.
Luka Modric broke clear into the box and saw his low shot kept out by Gordon. The rebound fell kindly to Jenas, who made no mistake tapping the loose ball home.
But it was Cisse who stole all the headlines with the match-winner on 82 minutes.
Murphy's cross picked out Cisse, who got himself in between Bale and King and made no mistake heading the ball past Gomes into the corner of the net.
