Milner crosses, attempting to find Adebayor, but Bramble clears.

The game is starting to open up but still not one side looks like breaking the deadlock. In fact, the chances have dried up as defences are coming out on top.

First touch by Silva is a good one as he finds Adebayor. However, his shot is poorer as he is unable to find Milner.

The next corner is cleared and Sunderland break. However, Kompany snuffs out Bent's cross before any harm can be done at the other end.

What a save! What a save by Mignolet! From six yards out an Adebayor header is tipped behind for a corner. Absolutely top drawer!

Excellent closing down by Cattermole denies Tevez a shot at goal, as his effort is blocked by the former Middlesbrough and Wigan man.

Bardsley dispossesses Yaya Toure far too easily and Al-Muhammadi launches another teasing ball into the City box. Kolo clears, Richards collides with him and now he's injured.

It's all Sunderland here as they strive for a goal. And they look like they could get one too. Where City dominated possession in the first half, Sunderland have dominated the second. Only one team looks like scoring here - and it's not City.

City are disjointed - there's no rhythm to be seen. Their second half play is summed up by a Yaya Toure backheel which goes straight to Bramble. Prickly times for City fans.

Milner rounds Bramble as if he was a stripy traffic cone and manages to get a cross in. Ferdinand clears but the ball goes straight back to Milner. His long range effort is poor.

Sunderland are getting more into the game and force City to concede another corner as Bent's pressure caused Kolo Toure to panic.

A soft free-kick is awarded for a Kolo Toure foul on Welbeck. Richardson gets his shot all wrong as it flies wide of the goal. It is not troubling Hart whatsoever.

Hart caught out of position by Al-Muhammadi and he is forced to concede a cheap corner. Nothing comes from the dead ball, which is headed clear by Kolo Toure.

Sunderland leave more space down the right and Milner drifts in. However, he cannot penetrate the Sunderland back-line and the move breaks down. Disappointing.

It's all City now as they look to force a breakthrough. They get their first corner of the game down the right, and from it, Kompany hits it on the volley but it cannons off Bent and harmlessly into midfield. Good chance that one.

A shocker for Tevez! Yaya Toure skips past Cattermole in midfield and plays the ball into the Argentine star. It's 3 on 1 here! With Mignolet nowhere and the goal gaping, Tevez contrives to spoon his shot over the bar from 12 yards.

Al-Muhammadi wins the first corner of the game, off that man Lescott again. An intriguing battle is being set up between those two. Corner played short, it's whipped in but headed clear.

Both teams have started well, playing neat and attacking football. However, both have been spreading the tackles about too. A good game is on the cards.

Sunderland are coming at City, not frightened of their superstars, as Campbell darts down the left. His effort is deflected and Hart comfortably collects.

The poor shot hasn't thwarted the Egyptian though, who darts at Lescott once more. However, poor ball control lets him down as he meekly kicks the ball against the defender.

Lescott retreats and retreats and retreats some more, allowing Al-Muhammadi to shoot from 25 yards. However, he smashes the ball well over.

What Toure can do, Cattermole can do better as his expertly timed challenge wins back possession. Malbranque wins a free-kick on the right and his whipped in ball is met by Bent's head. However, the effort is wayward.
