Stranraer seek defensive reinforcement
Stranraer are hoping to add an SPL youngster on loan ahead of kick-off against Elgin to bolster the centre of their defence.
Manager Keith Knox has made the move for the unnamed centre-back after David McGregor failed a fitness test on his injured thigh, Paul Murphy joined Glenavon on a temporary basis and Mark Durnan returned to St Johnstone at the end of his loan spell.
Knox has admitted he will enjoy his side's description as entertainers provided they continue to out-score the opposition, starting with the Borough Briggs outfit.
He said: "In our last six games there have been 26 goals scored and we have scored 19 of them. Elgin are quite similar in their approach so I would settle for a 6-5 success in this game."
Elgin welcome back left-sided player Daniel Moore after suspension as they make the long trip south.
But Steven Edwards will miss out through family commitments and work as a Police Officer will stop Blair Lawrie from making the game.
The Highland club will give fitness tests to defender Paul Kaczan and top goalscorer Craig Gunn before finalising their side with manager Ross Jack saying: "I am looking for a positive reaction from the squad after last week's disappointing 3-0 defeat from Clyde.
"We started that game well but paid the price for not taking our chances.
"Stranraer are on a great run just now of four wins in a row and we are obviously hoping to bring that to an end."
Shepherd leads Blues to victory
A first-half goal from Nathan Shepherd gave third-placed Stranraer a 1-0 victory over Elgin.
The visitors were unlucky not forge ahead in the 10th minute, when Stuart Leslie's 25-yard effort came back off the post.
But gradually the Blues began to settle, and they took the lead in the 15th minute when Shepherd drove the ball home from 20 yards.
Elgin improved, and they were nearly level immediately after the restart when Archie MacPhee's 25-yard shot was turned over the crossbar by David Mitchell.
Mark Nicolson was unlucky to see his header fly over the crossbar 10 minutes later, as Elgin began to press for an equaliser.
Michael Moore nearly made the scoreline more emphatic for Stranraer, but his 18-yard shot sailed over.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
