Match Preview

Three out for Stranraer Stranraer will be missing the injured trio of Steven Noble, Michael Moore and Glen Mitchell as they go looking for their second win in four days against East Stirling. The promotion chasing Stair Park Blues picked up a 2-0 win at Stirling on Saturday thanks to a goal in each half from Scott Agnew and Armand One and will be looking for a quick-fire double. Manager Keith Knox will again look for giant striker One to lead his attack with Knox believing that the Frenchman gets a lot of undeserved stick. He said: "Big Armand did really well for us on Saturday and his goal will give him an increased level of confidence. "He has scored 14 times this season and his contribution to the team is undervalued by a lot of people. "They gave us problems on Saturday especially our former player Kevin Cawley so we need to be on our guard." Former Celtic and Dundee midfielder Charlie Grant will feature for East Stirling after agreeing a deal until the end of the season. Grant knows his team-mates well as he played a three-game trial period for Jim McInally's side last autumn. However Craig Tully is out with an ankle problem and John Neil is a doubt with a wrist injury . McInally will stick to his footballing principles saying: "We struggle with the physical side of the game and I know that it is not nice losing all the time, but my idea of doing this job is to have a football team. "If I am honest I would rather lose trying to play the way we did than go down the physical route."

Match Report

Armand the One for Stranraer Armand One netted a hat-trick as Stranraer kept up the pressure on Scottish Division Three leaders Arbroath with a 4-1 victory over East Stirling. Clearly buoyed by the opportunity to crank up the pressure on the Red Lichties, the home side flew out of the blocks and took the lead in just the sixth minute through Scott Agnew's smart finish. East Stirling responded admirably thereafter, though, and restored parity nine minutes later when Stephen Maguire converted Kevin Cawley's right-wing cross. But, as the game wore on, Stranraer's class began to show with them regaining the lead in the 34th minute. Craig Malcolm was instrumental, sending in a well-placed cross which One stroked past Michael Andrews. The striker finished the game off three minutes later, again profiting from Malcolm's good work before firing home. Things got better for One in the second half as he completed his treble with another smart finish.
