Match Preview

Noble back for Blues Stranraer midfielder Steven Noble returns from a ban to face Clyde. That is tempered, though, by the fact fellow midfielder Sean Winter will miss out after picking up an ankle ligament injury against Albion last Saturday. The Blues slipped out of the top four for the first time this season when they lost to Rovers, meaning they now have to defeat Clyde and hope Queens Park drop points against Montrose to secure a play-off spot. Manager Keith Knox said: "We blew a chance last week so it is do or die now. "We simply never turned up to claim a play-off place and now things are out of our hands. It will be interesting see how Queens Park handle the pressure of being in fourth place now as it is not easy." A win for Clyde will ensure Jim Duffy's men do not finish bottom of the Scottish Football League. However, they go into the game without banned leading scorer Marc McCusker. On-loan St Mirren winger Jamie McCluskey will miss out after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring problem, but Alex Gramovics returns from injury. Duffy is expecting everyone else in the Bully Wee squad to be available, though. He said: "It will be nice to end the season with a good performance and one where we convert the chances that we have been making. "It will be tough as Stranraer are a big, powerful side who have a lot to play for but we will be looking to come back with the win."

Match Report

Malcolm on the mark for Stranraer Craig Malcolm scored his 15th league goal of the season in a 3-0 win which was not enough for Stranraer to clinch the final play-off spot. Stranraer went into the game knowing that if Queens Park slipped up against Montrose they would be in the play-offs. And they started off brightly as Malcolm neatly finished off a slick move by placing the ball into the bottom corner. Stranraer were dominating and their pressure paid off as Steven Noble grabbed a second. Neat work from Michael Moore down the left led to the ball falling to Noble and his strike flew into the bottom right-hand corner from 20 yards. Stuart McColm rounded off the scoring as his left-footed strike found the top-right of the goal from the edge of the area.
