Stranraer missing suspended top-scorer Stranraer have 21-goal striker Craig Malcolm suspended for their second match against Berwick in four days. However, regular goalkeeper David Mitchell will return after a groin problem and centre-half Ryan Kennedy has joined the squad after his trial period was converted into a loan move. Stair Park boss Keith Knox said: "We have not won in six games and that is too long. In our last two games we have drawn away to Arbroath and Berwick and that would normally be considered to be good results but we need wins to secure a play-off spot. "Defensively we have to do better as to go away from home and score five times in our last two games and not win shows you where our problems lie." Berwick bring midfielder Paul Currie back into their squad for the trip after he missed out on the 3-3 draw between the two sides in midweek. Elliot Smith, Craig O'Reilly and Fraser McLaren continue to be ruled out through injury with Shielfield boss Jimmy Crease targeting the win that would lift his side over their hosts in the table. Crease said: "I had targeted a minimum of four points from our two games against Stranraer so we are still on course for that. "I was disappointed with some of the decisions that went against us in midweek and we were the better team but we lost goals on 45 and 90 minutes and they are never good times to concede goals."

Play-off boost for Stranraer Stranraer boosted their play-off hopes with a 3-1 win over Berwick at Stair Park. In the ninth minute, Declan Gallacher hit the crossbar from a Stranraer corner. Stuart McColm then saw his 18-yard shot acrobatically saved by Berwick goalkeeper Ian McCaldon. Then in the 40th minute they got their reward when Grant Gallagher found McColm on the left and he found the top of the net from 18 yards. Stranraer doubled their lead after 51 minutes when Declan Gallacher found space to smash home from six yards. Then, against the run of play, Berwick`s Paul Currie scored with a cross-shot from 30 yards. Stranraer came back, though, when in the 66th minute McColm struck again with a cracking left-footed finish into the bottom-right corner.
