Stranraer pay the price for cup win Stranraer's fine win over Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Cup in midweek came at a price as they could be without three player against Arbroath. Defender Paul Murphy, midfielder Sean Winter and striker Michael Moore all look set to miss out after picking up injuries against the Warriors. Stair Park boss Keith Knox said: "We have to forget all about the Scottish Cup and get back to concentrating on the league affairs as that is our bread and butter. "This is a really, really important game against a good footballing side. However, we have had good results against them already this season so we can go into the game with confidence." Alan Rattray will be missing from the Arbroath squad for the trip. The defender has been ruled out through injury as Arbroath attempt to bounce back from their surprise 5-3 defeat by East Stirling in midweek. Gayfield boss Paul Sheerin said: "I will put the game on Tuesday down to being a bad day at the office and move on as we had been doing really well recently. "This is a massive game and after missing one opportunity to move to the top of the table we are really determined not to miss a second one. "Stranraer will be confident after beating Stenhousemuir in the cup so we will have to play really well to get the three points."

Swankie treble helps Arbroath go top Gavin Swankie's hat-trick helped nine-man Arbroath claim a 4-3 win at Stranraer as they leaped above their promotion rivals at the top of the table. Scott Agnew put the hosts ahead with a strike from the edge of the area but Arbroath soon hit back with Swankie and then Josh Falkingham netting from 12 yards to make sure the Red Lichties went in at half time a goal to the good. Armand One's long-range effort levelled the game but Swankie restored Arbroath's advantage with a strike from six yards. He completed his hat-trick after 65 minutes with a low right footed shot from inside the area. Ross Chislom was sent off for a professional foul on on Steven Noble before Glen Mitchell got onto the end of an Angus Cochrane cross to make it 4-3 in the 90th minute. Josh Falkingham was then sent off for a second bookable offence in injury time but Arbroath managed to hold on to take top spot.
