Great passing from Portsmouth as Crouch peels off the front to link up with the midfield before working it wide to Diop but the cross was a weak one and Simonsen gathered.

Excellent defending from Sol Campbell as he strides back in to make a sliding tackle to dispossess Tonge but Delap will launch the throw-in towards the goal. James rises and punches away the danger.

Delap with his first opportunity to toss in a long-throw. Kitson jumps and flicks the ball on and Fuller rose well to head down towards James right but the keeper was down well to deny the opening goal.

A rapid break from Portsmouth, Diop spreading the ball wide early on and finding Traore who mazes inside and drives a shot low but wide of Simonsen's goal.

Excellent chance for Dave Kitson - Kitson latching onto a loose ball in behind the Portsmouth defence and the striker was clean through but he pulls his shot wide of the post. What a miss from the Stoke forward.
