Match Preview
Birmingham City make the short trip to Stoke City as Alex McLeish's in-form side lock horns with Tony Pulis' mid-table outfit.
Following a poor start to this season's Premier League campaign, Birmingham have impressed many by climbing into the upper reaches of the Premier League table.
Cameron Jerome has started to find the net for City after a slow start to the season and he will want to strike fear into the hearts of City's backline and is likely to be partnered by Ecuador international Christian Benitez, who is starting to find his feet in English football.
McLeish must select his side minus the services of Teemu Tainio and David Murphy (both knee), Stuart Parnaby (back), Garry O'Connor (hip), and Martin Taylor (ankle).
The quintet all missed the Boxing Day goalless draw with Chelsea but the well-organised Blues still impressed.
Stoke seem have put their dressing room debacle at Arsenal out of their system with boss Pulis and striker James Beattie settling their differences.
However, their on-field problems remain. The Potteries side haven't won any of their last five games, with draws against Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic bringing just two points to their tally from a possible 15.
Ryan Shawcross is struggling with a groin complaint but is expected to feature against the Blues and Amdy Faye remains out with a long-standing back injury.
The last time the two teams met in the league at Britannia Stadium was during the 2006/07 season when both were in the Championship.
Stoke and Birmingham fans will be hoping for a little more action during this festive fixture after the last clash served up a dour goalless draw.

Match Report
Cameron Jerome's second-half goal extended Birmingham City's outstanding run and heaped further misery on out of sorts Stoke City.
Alex McLeish's Blues are now unbeaten in 11 games after a smash and grab raid which was sealed by Jerome's close-range strike.
But Tony Pulis' Potters only had themselves to blame as they dominated most of the play and again spurned several clear chances.
Stoke's giant centre-half Ryan Shawcross headed Liam Lawrence's corner wide of the target as Pulis' men attempted to make the early running.
And the home fans soon answered Pulis' call to turn the Britannia Stadium into a cauldron as Tuncay just failed to get on to James Beattie's header.
Robert Huth should have done better when he drifted into space from Matt Etherington's free-kick before Shawcross really should have opened the scoring in the 20th minute.
Etherington whipped in a corner from the right and the ball beat everyone, including Shawcross who failed to react quickly enough at the far post.
Birmingham responded when Sebastian Larsson's corner created a scramble which ended with Liam Ridgewell's header being gratefully collected by Thomas Sorensen.
But Stoke remained in the ascendancy as a brilliant piece of defending by Roger Johnson prevented a clear strike at goal for the busy Tuncay.
Alex McLeish must have been relieved to reach the break on level terms with counterpart Pulis again frustrated by his team's lack of firepower.
And Pulis must have been ready to pull out what little hair he has left when the Blues took the lead five minutes after the interval.
Scott Dann's header from James McFadden's corner took a deflection off Shawcross and Jerome spun to forced the ball past Sorensen from two yards.
Stoke, to their credit, came storming back as Joe Hart rubberstamped his England credentials with magnificent saves from Etherington and Abdoulaye Faye.
Hart produced terrific reflexes to paw out Etherington's 50th minute volley and then an even better effort as he plunged to his right to thwart a bullet header from Faye.
Pulis introduced Ricardo Fuller for the tiring Beattie in an attempt to increase the pressure but Birmingham, with Dann and Johnson superb, were defending with terrific discipline.
Dann threw his body on the line to block a thunderous effort from Dean Whitehead and Johnson was immaculate in just about everything he did.
