Duo back for Hatters Stockport caretaker boss Peter Ward is boosted by the return of Adam Griffin and James Wallace for the home clash with Oxford. Griffin served a one-match ban during Tuesday`s 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham and on-loan Everton midfielder Wallace returns after suspension. However, Ryan Doble is still suspended as he serves the second game of a three-match ban and Danny O'Donnell is doubtful due to injury. The centre-half was forced off with an ankle injury in the early stages of Tuesday`s loss at Whaddon Road and may now miss out altogether. County find themselves bottom of the Football League with 12 games remaining - four points and a healthy goal difference from safety. Ward said: "We've only 12 games left and we have to start picking up points." Oxford boss Chris Wilder is expected to make a number of changes. Wilder was not happy with the 3-1 defeat to Lincoln on Tuesday, their second successive League Two defeat. He was particularly annoyed with the defence so French centre-back Djoumin Sangare, who impressed for the reserves in midweek, and Ben Purkiss could earn recalls. Striker Alfie Potter, winger Simon Hackney and midfielder Jack Midson all came on against Lincoln and could come in after all got on the scoresheet in the reserve game. Doncaster loanee Josh Payne and Simon Clist are also options in the middle of the park. Despite the recent losses, United are still only two points away from the play-offs as they chase back-to-back promotions.

Tansey hands Hatters win Substitute Greg Tansey produced a stunning 20-yard strike in the final minute of injury time to give Stockport a 2-1 win against 10-man Oxford. The best chance of an otherwise forgettable first half came with three minutes to go when County's James Wallace fed David Poole and his chip flew inches wide. Oxford went ahead four minutes after the break when Steve McLean put Tom Craddock through on goal and he powered the ball past 19-year-old Ian McLoughlin. The Hatters sensed that they could get back into the game when Anthony Tonkin was sent off for a bad tackle on Poole in the 66th minute. The equaliser came 10 minutes later when Tom Fisher spotted an unmarked Matt Paterson, who stroked the ball into an empty net after Oxford goalkeeper Ryan Clarke had been drawn out of position. Oxford's rearguard action had looked to have paid dividends until Tansey's late intervention.
