Match Preview
Bridges back for Stevenage Dave Bridges returns to the Stevenage squad for the visit of Stockport. Bridges has completed a three-game ban for his sending-off during last season's FA Trophy final and will be involved for the first time this term. Fellow midfielder Darren Murphy looks set to miss out again after his shoulder popped out during the Carling Cup defeat by Portsmouth. Summer signing Darius Charles is hoping to make his debut after recovering from ankle ligament damage. The defender was an unused substitute during last weekend's 1-0 defeat by Bradford. Midfielder Peter Vincenti, who scored Boro's first goal in the Football League a fortnight ago, is pushing for a recall to the starting XI. Stockport manager Paul Simpson will assess the fitness of defender Robbie Williams. The former Huddersfield left-back, who is at Edgeley Park on a non-contract basis, is nursing a knock but is expected to be available as County go in search of their first win of the season. Simpson has no other major injury or suspension concerns and is keen for his side to kick-start their campaign. The former Carlisle, Preston and Shrewsbury boss has urged fans to back his side in numbers to boost revenue at the club. He said: "If the supporters start coming it will give me a cause to go and ask for a bit more money, it's as simple as that."

Match Report
Stockport stunned by Stevenage Stevenage clinched their first victory in League Two thanks to a fighting 3-1 home win against Stockport. Two goals from Charlie Griffin and Michael Bostwick did the trick for the home team and although George Donnelly scored a late consolation for the visitors, they have still to register a win this season. Borough were deserved winners and after Bostwick had had a shot saved by Stockport keeper Owain Fon Williams, Graham Westley's side pushed on and took the lead in the 29th minute when Griffin headed a Ronnie Henry cross into the back of the net. And then Bostwick scored himself with a left-foot screamer two minutes before the break as Borough took control. Griffin scored from close-range in the 71st minute to put the contest out of doubt before Donnelly scored with a close-range header at the end of the game to at least give Stockport something to smile about.
