Bostwick back for Boro
Michael Bostwick comes back into the reckoning for Stevenage's home game against Hartlepool.
The midfielder was sent off during the draw at fellow League One newcomers Chesterfield last weekend and served a one-match suspension as Boro recorded their first win of the season at Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
After such an impressive result on the south coast, Bostwick could struggle to get back into Graham Westley's team and may have to settle for a place on the bench.
Jennison Myrie-Williams, Chris Beardsley, Robin Shroot, who all came on as substitutes against the Cherries, and Ben May are options for Westley should the Boro boss feel the need to freshen up his starting XI.
Hartlepool striker James Brown is pushing for his first start of the season in the club's first ever encounter with Boro.
Brown has been struggling with an ankle injury during the summer and made his first appearance of the season when stepping off the substitutes' bench during the goalless draw with Huddersfield in midweek.
Fellow striker Colin Larkin also returned from an ankle injury on Tuesday night and will be hoping to retain his place, while James Poole, Colin Nish and Adam Boyd provide coach Mick Wadsworth with alternative options.
Wadsworth has no new injury or suspension concerns, but midfield quartet Gary Liddle, Antony Sweeney, Nathan Luscombe and Nolberto Solano remain sidelined.
Liddle is hoping to feature at Rochdale next week with the aid of a special mask, but is not yet ready to return following surgery on a fractured cheekbone and Sweeney is still struggling with a groin problem.
Luscombe sits out the second game of a three-match ban and Solano has not shaken off a hamstring strain.
Laird on the mark to deny Pools
Scott Laird rescued a 2-2 draw for Stevenage against Hartlepool with a well-taken equaliser with just two minutes left.
Laird latched onto substitute Robin Shroot's cross to head home clinically and salvage a point.
Hartlepool were in command in the first half and deservedly went in at the break with a two-goal cushion.
Early on Andy Monkhouse fired in a powerful shot which Chris Day got down well to save, but two goals inside eight minutes fired the visitors into a healthy lead.
Peter Hartley scored first when he headed in following a fine cross from the left from Evan Horwood.
Four minutes before half-time it was two courtesy of a penalty. Jon Ashton clumsily upended Colin Nish, leaving Adam Boyd to make no mistake from the spot.
After the break the hosts rallied and grabbed a lifeline when Byron Harrison fired home from inside the box.
And after Laird's late leveller, Shroot almost nicked it for the hosts when he fired inches wide from 12 yards.
