Stenhousemuir seek overdue win Stenhousemuir entertain East Fife at Ochilview looking for their first win since the sides' last meeting back in early December. They welcome fit-again Stevie Murray, Eric Paton and Iain Thomson back to their squad, though, with on-loan Motherwell striker Gary Smith in line to make his debut. The Warriors have suffered a pre-match blow as they will be without experienced defender Martyn Corrigan through an ankle injury. Assistant boss Kevin McGoldrick said: "Not having Martin available is disappointing news especially against an East Fife side that are very good at breaking forward. "We have been on a disappointing run and it is time that we got back to making our home a bit of a fortress. Winning this game would show that we mean business in terms of promotion." Fifth-placed East Fife will be missing Darren McCormack from their defence as they look for the win that would see them go above their hosts in the race for a play-off place. McCormack is suspended for the clash, while striker Ryan Wallace is absent due to an ankle injury. John Robertson's men are looking to make it three wins in a row, with the New Bayview boss saying: "We have been playing snakes and ladders all season but hopefully we are now heading the one way which is up. "We have a bit of confidence in our ranks now after defeating Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers and it would be great to add some more of that by winning at a very difficult venue."
Match Report
Rodgers lifts Stenny to win Andy Rodgers' 59th-minute goal was enough for Stenhousemuir to secure their third win of the campaign over East Fife. In a tight first half, Paul McQuade went closest for East Fife with a volley that flew just over the crossbar. Stenhousemuir responded and Stephen Murray should have done better when he hit a shot wide from the edge of the box. The hosts grabbed the initiative close to the hour mark when Brown Ferguson played the ball on for Rodgers, who volleyed home from close range. East Fife piled on the pressure and Robert Linn forced Alistair Brown into a full-stretch save around the post. And Brown was soon the hero again, producing a fantastic reflex save from substitute Scott Dalziel to preserve the win.
