Match Preview
McInnes wants to seal seventh Manager Derek McInnes hopes his St Johnstone side can get over their Scottish Cup disappointment by clinching seventh place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. After the 3-0 Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Motherwell at Hampden Park, Saints' focus returns to the SPL in the clash with Inverness at McDiarmid Park. With Caley Thistle and Hibernian also aiming to finish top of the bottom half of the table, McInnes knows victory tomorrow night is a must. McInnes said: "We finished eighth last year and we've got a bit of work to do if we want to beat that. "We need to win the last five games if we want to finish seventh. "We've got something to work towards and that's what we'll try and do. "Terry Butcher and his team are one of the teams who will be going for exactly the same target." McInnes has seen something of his St Johnstone side in Inverness this season. Caley Thistle won promotion from the Irn-Bru First Division last season and were in the top six of the SPL for much of the first half of the season. McInnes said: "They've mirrored very much our first season last year. "They've come up with an enthusiasm and brought something to the SPL. They've been very positive and had a lot of plaudits - and rightly so. "I like how Terry and his players have approached it and one thing is for certain we know their approach will be spot on and we look forward to it." In three prior meetings this season, Inverness have one win, Saints have one win and there has been a draw. Defenders Michael Duberry and Steven Anderson are suspended for Saints. Midfielder Jody Morris played in the Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Motherwell but could yet miss the rest of the season with a back problem, while Graham Gartland (groin) and Collin Samuel (hip) are doubtful. Peter MacDonald is back following a ban and on-loan Hearts winger Arvydas Novikovas is available again after missing the cup clash. Inverness forward Richie Foran admits he does not enjoy playing against St Johnstone but hopes the goalscoring prowess of his team can make their trip to Perth worthwhile. Caley Thistle have had mixed fortunes against St Johnstone this season with one win, one draw and a January defeat that ended their 13-month unbeaten away run in the league. Saints have struggled for goals this season, netting just 18 times in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, even fewer than bottom club Hamilton. Inverness have scored 41 goals but sit only four points above their Easter Monday opponents, whose ability to grind out results does not make them an attractive prospect for Foran. "We`re in for a really tough game," the former Motherwell player said. "Every game we have played this season, there hasn`t been a lot of goals. "They haven`t been nice games to be honest, I haven`t really enjoyed them. It`s all about going there and winning ugly. "They`re not nice games to play, they are just a battle. They`re a battling team, they are big, honest lads. We have to go there with the right attitude. "If we battle with them, I think our quality can come through on the night." Winger Jonny Hayes is out for the season after undergoing ankle surgery. The Irishman is joined on the sidelines by the suspended Ross Tokely and Stuart Duff. David Proctor (hamstring), Dani Sanchez (hand) and Graeme Shinnie (stomach) remain out.

Match Report
Three-and-easy for resurgent Caley Aaron Doran's brilliant curling effort helped move Inverness four points clear in seventh place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League following a comfortable 3-0 win at McDiarmid Park. St Johnstone had enjoyed the better of the opening half hour with Alan Maybury hitting the post and Andy Jackson seeing a shot cleared off the line, but Chris Innes headed the visitors in front in the 36th minute. Caley Thistle never looked in danger after Doran struck in the 57th minute and Richie Foran soon added a third as the Highlanders moved away from Hibernian. Saints have now lost five games in succession without scoring and, although they endured some bad luck in front of goal in the opening half, they showed a distinct lack of belief when trying to get back into the game. The defeat added to the gloom following the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat by Motherwell by the same scoreline, for which goalkeeper Peter Enckelman was the major casualty as St Johnstone made six changes. Most of them were necessary though with centre-backs Michael Duberry and Steven Anderson suspended and both Collin Samuel and Jody Morris injured. Inverness made three enforced changes with Innes, Grant Munro and Shane Sutherland coming in for suspended pair Stuart Duff and Ross Tokely plus Jonny Hayes, who has undergone ankle surgery. Jackson started up front alongside Stevie May for Saints and took just 60 seconds to get a good effort on target from the edge of the box but Ryan Esson got down well to push the ball wide. Murray Davidson soon threatened for the hosts with a deflected strike from 20 yards that went just wide. The home side failed to make the most of several set-pieces and Inverness had a half chance when Foran threw himself at Doran's cross but could not turn it on target. Maybury came very close with a powerful first-time volley from 25 yards which bounced off the inside of the post but Inverness threatened after Graham Gartland was booked for pulling back Foran as the Irishman broke. Adam Rooney just failed to connect from close range after Innes headed on Doran's long free-kick and Graeme Smith then saved Chris Hogg's header. The hosts came closer following Danny Grainger's deep corner. Gartland headed the ball back and Jackson hooked it past Esson but Foran cleared off the line. However, they fell behind when Innes ran on to Sutherland's cross following a half-cleared corner before heading unchallenged into the roof of the net from 12 yards. Chris Millar curled over from a tight angle and Saints should have levelled before the break when Davidson flicked a long ball past the visiting defence before running clear, but the midfielder slipped the ball wide with only Esson to beat. Esson saved from Jackson, Jordan Robertson - who was on for May - and Liam Craig within five minutes of the restart but Saints quickly lost their momentum and Doran scored a brilliant second. Maybury failed to control a long ball to give the Irish winger the chance to run at him and curl the ball into the far top corner from just inside the box. Inverness comfortably defended their lead, which Foran extended in the 70th minute when he collected Sutherland's header just inside the box and slid the ball past Smith from 14 yards despite having defenders in his way. St Johnstone have scored just 18 goals in the SPL this season and they looked devoid of confidence as they sought a way back into the game, although Jackson curled just wide from 18 yards. Rooney could have made the scoreline even more emphatic when he shot over from a decent position.
