Match Preview
Same again for Turner Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner could again name an unchanged matchday 18 as his side aim to topple early pacesetters Tranmere. Town have put in two impressive performances on their return to England's third tier, narrowly going down 1-0 at promotion favourites Sheffield United before seeing off Preston, another side tipped to do well. Tuesday's 1-0 victory at the Greenhous Meadow put the club's first points on the board but Shrews now face another stern test in a Rovers outfit who have won all three fixtures in league and cup so far this term. Turner has named the same squad of 18 players for both of Town's league games to date and, with a couple of niggles not expected to keep anyone out at the weekend, he is expected to keep faith once more. Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore has no new injury problems. Ian Goodison remains on the sidelines following knee surgery, while fellow centre-back Mark McChrystal is back in training after a groin problem. In the duo's absence, Ash Taylor and Ben Gibson have combined impressively in the heart of defence and the latter has impressed Moore since joining on loan from Middlesbrough. "Gibson has done nothing wrong. His performances have been fantastic," the Rovers boss told his club's official website. "In Gibson we've got a talker and that's very rare at 19. "In the past when Goody hasn't played we don't win. It's not nice for him to be out of the side, but it's nice that when he's out we have won. That's a big bonus for everyone. We've got good young players and he's going to have to fight to get back in the team when he comes back." Forward Adam McGurk and full-back Paul Black have missed the back-to-back league wins over Leyton Orient and Carlisle and remain unavailable due to thigh injuries.
