McAllister back for Shrews Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner could include Sean McAllister in his squad to face Stockport at Greenhous Meadow. The midfielder has not played since January because of a hernia injury but, after recovering from an operation on the problem and playing 90 minutes for the reserves in the midweek defeat to Morecambe, he has declared himself ready for a first-team return. However, it remains to be seen whether he is selected as Turner has a plethora of midfield talent to choose from with on-loan Wolves man David Davis and Nicky Wroe performing well in the centre of the park while Kevin McIntyre and Craig Disley are pushing for starting berths. Striker Nathan Elder turned out against the Shrimps as he continues his comeback from the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered while on loan at AFC Wimbledon last April but he is unlikely to make a first-team return this season. Midfielder Steven Leslie was set to return to the club when his initial one-month loan at Hereford expired this weekend but Turner has confirmed the Shrews have agreed to extend his stay with the Bulls until the end of the season. Stockport boss Ray Mathias will be without midfielder Greg Tansey. Tansey collected his 10th booking of the season in last weekend`s 2-2 draw at home to Stevenage and begins a two-match ban. County could also be without skipper Paul Turnbull after he picked up a knock against Stevenage and was replaced by Tom Fisher after just 30 minutes. Mathias will choose from an otherwise unchanged squad as his men seek the victory that would keep their survival hopes alive. County lie five points adrift at the bottom of the table and have just five matches to save themselves from relegation. Yet Mathias said: "We'll be going there fighting - like we did against Stevenage - and hopefully we can get a result."

Shrews see off sorry Stockport Shrewsbury helped their automatic promotion hopes with a comfortable 2-0 win over bottom club Stockport. The pace of Tom Bradshaw, one of three changes made by Town after their 3-0 defeat at Aldershot, troubled the County defence. He beat the offside trap and rounded keeper Matt Glennon to score after 17 minutes. Three minutes later he was through again but this time was brought down by Glennon. Nicky Wroe scored from the penalty to make Stockport's goal against tally 90 for the season. With County's 111-year stay in the football league at peril, they staged a second-half fightback but lacked a clinical finish. James Vincent was inches wide and home keeper Ben Smith twice saved well from Anthony Elding. Bradshaw had a chance to improve Shrewsbury's goal difference near the end but lobbed over when clean through.
