Ainsworth boost for Shrews Shrewsbury welcome back winger Lionel Ainsworth for the visit of Rotherham. The summer signing has successfully overcome a groin problem and should go straight back into Graham Turner's starting line-up. Fellow midfielder Mark Wright is also back after recovering from a minor knock which kept him out of the 1-0 victory at Oldham in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The clash comes too soon for goalkeeper Ben Smith as he will only return to light training next week following a groin problem. The Shrews also remain without defender Danny O'Donnell and striker Nathan Elder who are long-term absentees with groin and knee injuries respectively. Turner's men will be looking to continue their fine start having moved up to second in League Two following three wins and a draw prior to their triumph at Boundary Park. Rotherham will be without defender Dean Holden. The right-back, who is on loan from the Shrews, extended his stay with the Millers for a second month earlier this week, but the terms of the deal prevent him from playing against his parent club. That means Johnny Mullins will make his first league start for the club after making his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Lincoln on Tuesday night. Doubts remain over the fitness of on-loan striker Tom Elliott, who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. Jeremiah Ani partnered Adam Le Fondre in attack on Tuesday in Elliott's absence and the Nigerian striker could again be given the nod by Ronnie Moore. Nick Fenton (groin) continues to struggle, while Dale Tonge, Ryan Taylor and Tom Pope (all metatarsal) are long-term absentees. Rotherham travel to the ProStar Stadium unbeaten and in third place in League One.

Ainsworth sends Shrews top Lionel Ainsworth's early strike sent Shrewsbury to the top of the table as Rotherham were consigned to a 1-0 defeat. The Shrews took the lead just five minutes when Mat Sadler and Craig Disley combined on the left and Ainsworth was on hand to side-foot his first goal for the club from eight yards. Three times veteran goalkeeper Andy Warrington prevented further Town goals, but it was the home keeper Chris Neal who stole the show after that. Kevin Ellison had a goal disallowed for a foul on the Shrews keeper and then Neal pulled off a series of saves, twice from Adam Le Fondre and then from Paul Warne. Then an injury-time free-kick from Nicky Law was punched away by Neal to deny the Millers a point.
