Match Preview

No Exodus for Shrews Shrewsbury have received a setback ahead of the visit of Cheltenham with the news on-loan defender Exodus Geohaghon has been forced to return to parent club Peterborough. Geohaghon sustained a knee injury in the 1-1 draw at Stevenage last month and only recently returned to training but, having subsequently had to pull out, further scans have discovered a cartilage tear which requires surgery. His loan was due to end in early January but the Posh centre-back is now facing several weeks on the sidelines. Shrews boss Graham Turner has also been hit by the news deadline-day loan signing Andrew Tutte will miss out against the Robins with a back problem, meaning his wait to make his debut continues. Midfielder Craig Disley also needs to see a hip specialist and will have to watch from the stands, while striker Kris Bright this week left the Greenhous Meadow by mutual consent. One piece of good news for Shrews is the return of winger Lionel Ainsworth who has missed the last three games due to a groin injury. Cheltenham are likely to be without Frankie Artus when they get back to action. The midfielder is a doubt for the Greenhous Meadow encounter having taken a slight knock to his leg in training, but the former Bristol City man is expected to be okay for Tuesday`s rearranged visit of Southend. Artus is manager Mark Yates` only concern for the clash as his Town side look to play their first League Two match in two-and-half weeks following FA Cup duty and back-to-back postponements. And Yates told the club`s official website: "You have to be able to cope with the weather. We are very grateful to Cirencester for letting us use the indoor dome for training sessions and we have been at the gym and fitness centre too. "It`s all about getting our focus back but they`re a good bunch (of players) and, after a break from games, we must prepare properly for this match."

Match Report

Bradshaw saves Shrews A dramatic late strike from teenage substitute Tom Bradshaw earned Shrewsbury a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham. Shrewsbury came flying out the traps and Cheltenham goalkeeper Scott Brown saved well from League Two player of the month Mark Wright. But Cheltenham recovered from their shaky start and Wesley Thomas scored his ninth goal of the season when he was given time on the edge of the box and curled a neat right-foot shot inside the far post. Shrewsbury were out of sorts and with Josh Low and David Bird commanding the midfield for the visitors, the Shrews found it hard to break down a resolute defence. Wright and Jake Robinson had shots blocked, before Kevin McIntyre saw a shot deflected just wide. Shrewsbury threw on two strikers for the final 10 minutes and Wales Under-19 international Bradshaw saved the day with a header from near the penalty spot.
