Match Preview
Davis in contention for Shrews bow New loan signing David Davis is available to make his Shrewsbury debut at home to Burton. The midfielder has arrived from Wolves on an initial month-long deal. Boss Graham Turner was unhappy with Town`s 3-1 defeat at Oxford last Tuesday and made two changes for Friday`s clash at Bury along with a switch of formation to 4-5-1. But another unimpressive opening 45 minutes at Gigg Lane saw him revert back to 4-4-2 at half-time, inspiring a much stronger second-half showing despite the 1-0 loss. And that leaves the Town boss with much to ponder against Burton. One of those two changes was enforced as on-loan defender Jermaine Grandison missed out with a hamstring injury and he is again likely to watch from the stands, with Dean Holden set to continue in his place. Nathan Redmond could make his Burton debut. The pacy winger, signed on loan from Birmingham, was not involved in the FA Cup defeat at Burnley on Saturday. Calvin Zola, who marked his debut with a goal against the Clarets is likely to keep his place in the side. The striker is set to face the club he turned down the chance to join towards the end of last year. Boss Paul Peschisolido has options should he wish to make changes. Defenders Tony James, Ryan Austin and Paul Boertien, midfielders Lewis Young and Jimmy Phillips and striker Greg Pearson are all available for recalls. The trip to Greenhous Meadow will be Burton`s first league game since losing 2-1 at Port Vale on January 3.

Match Report
Dream start for Taylor Diminutive winger Jon Taylor marked his full league debut with a double as Shrewsbury rekindled their automatic-promotion hopes with a 3-0 win over Burton. Taylor, who has emerged from the youth team at the Greenhous Meadow, fired the Shrews in front 10 minutes into the second half with a well-struck effort from the edge of the penalty area after being teed up by skipper Ian Sharps. He popped up again to give Graham Turner's side some valuable breathing spare in the 70th minute, blocking an attempted clearance from Russell Penn with the ball rebounding into the net from six yards. It quickly got even better for Shrewsbury when recalled striker Matt Harrold collected a pass from Mark Wright and drilled a powerful shot to the bottom corner. Burton had earlier carried the greater first half threat with Calvin Zola denied by a Kevin McIntyre goalline clearance, before the striker forced a flying save from goalkeeper Ben Smith. But Shrewsbury were much improved in all areas in the second half as they returned to the play-off places.
