Match Preview

Turner waits on Taylor Graham Turner expects Jon Taylor to recover in time for Shrewsbury`s home clash with Accrington. The young winger, who has exploded onto the scene over the second half of the season, started Saturday`s 2-0 victory at Hereford having struggled with a virus beforehand, only to be forced off just before the hour mark with a toe injury. Turner said: "Jon got injured in the first half when someone stood on his toe and that caused him some discomfort. We will have a look at him on Sunday morning but he should be okay." The Town boss named the same XI at Edgar Street as the one which secured a 2-0 win over Stockport the week previous, and he is unlikely to see any reason to change a winning formula when Stanley come to town on Easter Monday. Accrington boss John Coleman has no new injury concerns. Coleman saw his side move into fifth place in League Two with a fine 3-0 win over Bradford on Saturday and are close to securing a place in the play-offs. Coleman took key trio Ian Craney, Sean McConville and James Ryan off during the second half to allow them some extra recovery time and they will all start. Midfielder Charlie Barnett, who endured an impressive start to the season before injuries curtailed his progress, is back in the squad.. Fellow midfielder Ray Putterill is also an option for Coleman but defender Kevin Long, who has missed a large chunk of the season with a broken toe, looks set to be be among the substitutes again.

Match Report

Nervy Shrews' held by Stanley Shrewsbury dropped out of the automatic promotion places after a frustrating goalless draw against fellow high-flyers Accrington. Graham Turner's men were never at their best although they fashioned several half chances in a frantic second half. Tom Bradshaw and James Collins both fired over from outside the penalty area while a Matt Harrold cross-shot was fumbled by Accrington keeper Alex Cisak. But Stanley defended well with central defenders Phil Edwards and Sean Hessey excellent as they collected a 13th away draw of the season. Accrington had the better of a low key first half and so nearly made the breakthrough in the 19th minute when home goalkeeper Ben Smith made a tremendous double save to deny Luke Joyce and Sean McConville. Shrewsbury, in contrast, were riddled with nerves and, apart from a Collins effort into the side netting, there was nothing to concern Accrington keeper Cisak.
