Match Preview

Osbourne set for Owls bow Managerless Sheffield Wednesday's latest signing Isaiah Osbourne is expected to feature at some stage in the home clash with MK Dons. Assistant manager Rob Kelly and coach Billy Barr will take charge following the sacking of Alan Irvine this week. Osbourne was signed on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season last weekend, but was not included in the squad for the midweek defeat at Peterborough. Midfielder Darren Potter will sit out a one-game ban following his dismissal on Tuesday night, but Kelly and Barr have no other new injury or suspension problems. Strikers Clinton Morrison and Paul Heffernan are pushing for recalls after new signing Gary Madine started alongside Neil Mellor against Peterborough. Midfielders Tommy Miller (hamstring) and Liam Palmer (ankle) plus defenders Lewis Buxton (hamstring) and Jon Otsemobor (calf) are still sidelined. MK Dons will be without defender Sean O`Hanlon for the trip. The centre-half scored after just 45 seconds in the win at Bristol Rovers on Wednesday but was later sent off for two bookable offences and will serve a one-match ban at Hillsborough. Gary MacKenzie is likely to return to the starting line-up in his place. On-loan Fulham youngster Keanu Marsh-Brown made his professional debut in midweek and should again be on the bench while fellow January signings David Amoo and Rowan Vine will also be in the squad. Striker Sam Baldock is still out with his hamstring injury and on-loan QPR striker Angelo Balanta will be out of action until March with an ankle problem. Defender Jude Stirling was on the bench in midweek for the first time all season after finally recovering from a long-term hernia problem. Didi Hamann - who has not played since October as he focussed on coaching - has left to join Leicester.

Match Report

Owls rally to deny nine-man Dons Sheffield Wednesday fought back from two down to salvage a 2-2 draw against nine men MK Dons in the first game since Gary Megson was appointed as manager. The Dons took the lead after 18 minutes when Peter Leven converted a penalty after rookie goalkeeper Arron Jameson had tripped Keanu Marsh-Brown. Jameson, who was in for the injured Nicky Weaver, can count himself fortunate to have escaped a red card. Wednesday soon found themselves two down with Daniel Powell turned in from close range following great work down the left from Marsh-Brown. However, the Dons' hopes of leaving Hillsborough with a win were dented when Gary MacKenzie was sent off for a second bookable offence. Leven would later follow him in for an early bath for a professional foul as the Owls hit back to earn a point through goals by Neil Mellor and Clinton Morrison. Mellor slotted home after 69 minutes after a great run by Giles Coke, then Morrison completed the comeback by reacting to a flick on from a corner.
