Jean-Francois set for Blades recall Lecsinel Jean-Francois is expected to return to Sheffield United's squad for the home game with Carlisle following international commitments. The versatile defender, who has missed the last two games while on duty with Haiti, provides manager Danny Wilson with extra options at the back. Wilson, who has no new injury or suspension problems, is not expected to make too many changes, although midfielder Ryan Flynn is pushing for a place in the starting line-up. Flynn scored after stepping off the substitutes' bench in last week's FA Cup win over Oxford. Striker Chris Porter may have to settle for a place on the bench again, with Wilson likely to retain Ched Evans, who scored twice last week, and Richard Cresswell up front. The Blades lost their last league game at Stevenage and are six points adrift of second-placed Huddersfield. Carlisle manager Greg Abbott hopes to have skipper Peter Murphy back in contention for a starting place. Central defender Murphy has been struggling with a back problem in recent weeks and was an unused substitute in the FA Cup win at Alfreton as Danny Livesey stepped in alongside Lubo Michalik. Defender Christian Ribeiro, drafted in on loan from Bristol City last week, is expected to make his first league appearance after making his debut at right-back in the cup. Striker Paddy Madden scored a hat-trick on his return for the reserves in midweek after being sidelined for the last four months with a fractured bone in his foot but may have to build on his match fitness before returning to the squad. Leading scorer Lee Miller, who has netted eight goals in 15 appearances this season, should resume his partnership up front alongside Rory Loy, who was on target with a spectacular overhead kick at Alfreton.

Match Report

Ched puts Carlisle to bed Ched Evans scored midway through the first half to give Sheffield United a 1-0 win at home to Carlisle. Evans struck in the 21st minute, firing into the roof of the net at the far post after Lee Williamson's corner was headed on and the Carlisle defence failed to clear. Williamson had gone close to giving the home side a sixth-minute lead when his shot was turned onto a post by keeper Adam Collin and Richard Cresswell, following up, blazed his effort off target. Evans twice threatened the visitors' goal shortly after scoring, seeing an effort blocked inside the area and then putting a free-kick wide. Lee Miller had Carlisle's first chance of note, firing narrowly wide with a low drive. Cresswell wasted a great chance to make it 2-0 when he failed from the penalty spot in the 70th minute. Ryan Flynn was fouled in the area by Christian Ribeiro and Cresswell's poor spot-kick was saved by Collin. Miller went close for the visitors with a shot from the edge of the area which went a fraction over.
