Jennings joins Iron injury list Scunthorpe will be without striker Connor Jennings for the visit of Stevenage to Glanford Park. The 20-year-old, who signed from Stalybridge Celtic a fortnight ago, made his debut against Colchester last week but now faces eight weeks out with a broken metatarsal sustained in training. With Jennings out, Iron boss Alan Knill is hoping to have top-scorer Bobby Grant back for the game. The nine-goal striker has missed the last three weeks with an ankle injury but Knill is confident that he will be available. Midfielder Damien Mozika (calf) returned to training this week and could feature while striker Jordan Robertson (hip) and midfielder Michael O'Connor (groin) are both likely to be passed fit. The Iron are definitely without injured quartet Cliff Byrne (groin), Jimmy Ryan (knee), Matt Godden (hip) and Michael Collins (tendonitis) who are all long-term absentees. Stevenage captain Mark Roberts remains in charge for the trip and the defender has an unchanged squad to pick from. Roberts named an unchanged starting XI against Rochdale following Graham Westley's departure and then saw his reign as caretaker boss get off to the perfect start with a 5-1 victory at Spotland. Boro sustained no new problems and ahead of the game against the Iron, Roberts told the club's official website: "We've had 24 fit players out on the training pitch so there's plenty of competition for shirts. "If the players not in the side are pushing those that are then it keeps the standard high, and hopefully that will show with a performance at Scunthorpe." Roberts has the likes of defender Phil Edwards, midfielders Robin Shroot and Stacy Long and striker Don Cowan available should he wish to make changes. Chuke Aneke will complete a three-match ban while John Mousinho (foot) and Craig Reid (groin) also remain unavailable due to injury. On-loan midfielder James Wallace has returned to Everton.

Charles denies Iron Darius Charles came off the bench to rescue Stevenage with an 84th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe. The home side dominated much of a goalless first half, without being able to make the breakthrough. The nearest they came was after 15 minutes when midfielder Josh Walker, making his home debut on loan from Watford, tried his luck with a a shot from the edge of the box which was fingertipped over at full stretch by keeper Chris Day. Stevenage came into the game just before the interval, Luke Freeman missing a great chance to open the scoring when he lifted his shot over with the goal at his mercy after a rampaging run down the right by Lawrie Wilson. Michael Bostwick should also have done better when he volleyed wide at the far post from a corner. But it was Scunthorpe who took the lead two minutes into the second half when a ball over the top of the visitors' defence sent striker Garry Thompson racing through the middle to hammer a right-foot shot past Day for only his second goal of the season. But with only six minute remaining the home defence failed to clear a cross from the right and Charles turned to squeeze a close-range shot past keeper Sam Slocombe as Scunthorpe had to settle for their 13th draw of the campaign.
