A stubborn Rochdale side prevented Barnet from marking one hundred years of football at Underhill with what would have been a timely victory.
Barnet controlled the first half with the lively Jason Puncheon causing the visitors no end of problems.
His creativity and eye for a pass handed opportunities to Adam Birchall and Anthony Thomas, but both lacked the composure necessary to seriously trouble Rochdale keeper James Spencer.
Rochdale, who handed a debut to loan signing Kelvin Lomax, were ragged at the back and were lucky to be level at the break after several half chances went begging for the hosts.Chris Dagnall's effort for the visitors did press home keeper Lee Harrison into action just before half time but the goalkeeper, making his 300th appearance for the club, diverted his effort to safety with an outstretched leg.
Home keeper Harrison was then a spectator for much of the second half, being called into action on only one occasion when he made a meaningful save from a close-range Dagnall header.
The home side thought they had taken the lead just past the hour but the celebrations were cut short when substitute Jason Norville's effort was ruled out for handball.
Puncheon, who faded as the game went on, thought he had snatched a late victory, but his free-kick unluckily cannoned back off the far post with the visitor's keeper beaten.
