No Murray for Spiders
Queens Park winger David Murray picked up a hamstring injury in training on Thursday night and is a major doubt for the visit of Elgin.
Craig Smith looks set to return from a thigh injury to replace Murray should he not recover in time.
Steven Baillie, Jamie Brough, Michael O'Hara and Paul Harkins continue to be absent through injury.
Head coach Gardner Speirs is now looking for favours to get his side back into the promotion race, saying: "We have to go out and get wins in our remaining games and hope that something else happens in our favour elsewhere.
"This will be a really tough encounter as Elgin always enjoy playing at our place and they have some good players in their squad."
Elgin look set to continue with John Calder in goal as Peter Donnelly is struggling with a shoulder injury.
Paul Miller and Steven Edwards will be missing because of commitments outside of football with Mark Nicolson looking set to miss out with a rib injury.
Striker Brian Cameron is fit again and Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack, who has added 15-year-old goalkeeper Stuart Black to his squad along with 18-year-old Fraser Forbes, is hopeful that David Niven shakes off a bout of flu to play.
Jack said: "Neither side can afford to lose this game, and whilst we are low on numbers, we went there in similar circumstances a year ago and won."
Longworth strike enough for Spiders
Queen's Park remain in the play-off hunt after Jamie Longworth's solitary strike helped them to a 1-0 victory over Elgin.
The Spiders' Ian Watt sent a rising 21st-minute shot from the right over the top, before Elgin's Craig Gunn dragged an effort wide of the near-post shortly afterwards.
With neither side able to break the deadlock before the interval it was left to Longworth to provide the moment of magic five minutes after the restart as he latched on to Richard Little's pass before striking the decisive goal.
Elgin's Blair Lawrie forced Queen`s goalkeeper Adam Strain to tip an 18-yard effort around the post as the visitors searched for a way back into the contest.
But that failed to materialise, with Queen's looking more likely to add a second. The win keeps the victors four points off the play-offs.
