Stewart adds to Queen's Park problems
Queen's Park will be without midfielder Paul Stewart due to work commitments as they look to put a marker down as serious promotion challengers by defeating leaders Annan at Hampden.
Midfielder David Anderson is a major doubt after picking up an injury in last weekend's 3-2 success over Stranraer with head coach Gardner Speirs again without Tony Quinn, Michael O'Hara, Giuseppe Capuano and Steven Baillie through injury.
Speirs said: "We lost to Annan 5-2 on the opening day of the season and have been chasing them ever since.
"It would be great to pull to within two points of them by winning this one.
"They used their tight pitch against us well and I hope we use the big national stadium pitch well in this one."
Leaders Annan will give late fitness checks to midfielder Bryan Gilfillan and striker Graeme Bell before finalising their side.
Gilfillan has a shin problem and Bell a knee complaint but manager Harry Cairney is confident both players will make it.
Cairney is looking for his men to repeat their first National Stadium success of last season and said: "We won at Queen's Park back in March at the sixth time of asking.
"That game was won at a very crucial stage of the season and it would be great to do that again. They have hit a bit of form recently so it will not be easy but if we play like we can we can pick up the three points."
Annan stay clear
Annan Athletic remain three points clear at the top of the Irn-Bru Third Division after a 0-0 draw at in-form Queens Park.
Jamie Longworth nearly gave the home side the lead as early as the 11th minute when he turned Ian Watt's pass goalwards, but Craig Summersgill was equal to it with a smart save. And his opposite number, Neil Parry, also had to be alert when he denied Graeme Bell one-on-one just before the break.
Steven Sloan went close to open the scoring for the visitors just after the restart, but he pulled his shot wide of Parry's far post.
Athletic continued to threaten and David Cox nearly stole all the points for the league leaders when his volley from just inside the box missed the target.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
