Strikers absent for Queens Queen of the South will have a depleted strike force for the visit of Falkirk. Derek Holmes has joined Sean O'Connor on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Morton last Saturday. Midfielder Paul Burns is available following a ban, however winger Willie McLaren is a major doubt with Palmerston Park boss Kenny Brannigan saying: "Willie has been struggling with a throat infection all week and has missed most of our training sessions so we can only hope he has a great recovery and can play. "A win would take us above Falkirk in the table and hopefully we can keep our good home record of only one defeat in eight going by getting those three points." Falkirk travel without the attacking threat of Tam McManus and Jack Compton. The duo are both injured but the craft of Mark Millar is available again after suspension. Falkirk have slipped six points behind Dunfermline and their results away from home have been a factor with Steven Pressley's side losing their last three matches on the road. Pressley said: "We won well against Queen of the South at our place and I see no reason why we cannot do the same down there. "I am not concerned about our away from as we are playing really well and when we start taking our chances we will do okay. Three points keeps us right in things."

Flynn on fire in Falkirk win Ryan Flynn was involved in all five of Falkirk's goals as they thrashed Queen of the South 5-1. Carl Finnigan netted the Bairns` first after four minutes, heading home Flynn's cross, but the home side were level after 49 minutes through Paul Burns' 18-yarder. They were level for just three minutes as Flynn set up Jason Marr for a close-range finish. Finnigan made it 3-1 after 74 minutes when he nodded home another Flynn centre, before Kenny Deuchar scored from 12 yards 10 minutes later with Flynn providing the assist with a neat pass. Marc Twaddle completed the scoring a minute from time, curling home a 20-yard free-kick after man-of-the-match Flynn had been fouled by Rocco Quinn.
