Match Preview
Holmes worry for North End Preston manager Graham Westley is sweating over the fitness of Lee Holmes ahead of their clash with Swindon. The midfielder missed the midweek League Cup victory over Crystal Palace after suffering a bad gash to his knee last weekend and is likely to remain sidelined. Skipper John Mousinho remains doubtful with a thigh injury but will be assessed ahead of kick-off. Midfielder Joel Byrom has shook off a thigh strain, but is short of fitness and also faces a late test. Akpo Sodje is expected to retain his place in attack after scoring against Palace in his first start of the season, while Stuart Beavon could make his debut following his deadline-day move from Wycombe. Westley has no other injury or suspension worries as they go in search of their first league win. Tottenham loanee John Bostock will be available for Swindon ahead of their trip to Preston. The 20-year-old spent the final two months of last season at the County Ground and is expected to go straight into the squad along with fellow loan signing Darren Ward. Jay McEveley will be available for the Robins, despite picking up a knock in the Capital One Cup extra-time win at Stoke in midweek. Gary Roberts and Troy Archibald-Henville have both been ruled out of the game at Deepdale as they continue to struggle with injury. Archibald-Henville is still a few days away from a return from a knee injury, while Roberts is expected to remain sidelined for a couple of weeks with a calf problem. Alan Navarro will have to wait to hear whether he keeps his place in manager Paolo Di Canio's midfield, after starting the last two league matches on the bench.
